Forgiving and forgetting are two totally different things. As we’re all aware, you can forgive without being able to forget, particularly when something has been particularly traumatic. If there’s anything I’ll never forget, it’s the beauty of this spacey autumnal hymnal from Dutch singer songwriting project Someone, whom we’re previously familiar with as folk pop artist Tessa Rose Jackson. As Someone, she explores the rockier depths of pop with her austere and introspective song Forget Forgive, which is kind of like stripped down Wolf Alice meets intimate and honest Soak. The song is delicate and sparse, yet so powerfully haunting.  Someone says: “Forget Forgive is the most personal track I’ve written so far. It’s a really intimate lyric about battling some pretty nasty demons and, in overcoming them, figuring out the kind of person you want to be.” Her debut live performance under her new pseudonym is promised to be an electrifying multimedia affair at Amsterdam’s Cinetol on November 27th. You can also stream Someone’s music via Spotify, here.

A tidal wave of rich cottony synthpop washes over us on Someone, a remarkable new tune from Norway’s Anna of the North. It’s the second single to be taken from the project’s highly anticipated debut album Lovers. It really doesn’t get as exuberantly lavish as it does during Someone’s opening bars. That head rush of an opening paves the way for the 80′s inspired pop dazzler to whisk us off our feet with its pastel synths, throbbing beats, and pristine sailing vocals. The band says of their luminous new song: “We think almost everyone has woken up after a big night, instantly regretting something that happened. It’s about how easy it is to break your promises when you’ve had a couple of drinks. Going deeper, the song is about accepting that you’re only human and to learn how to forgive yourself for your own mistakes and accepting that sometimes we need someone to save us from repeating any old habits.” Anna of the North’s debut album Lovers is due for worldwide release on September 8th. Toronto alt and soul pop quartet ROMES somersaults their way back into our hearts with a glowing new single named Someone, which comes a seaside video that complements the song’s sparkly effulgence. Though the band examines rueful emotions on their song, Someone is a lifting, heartwarming affair. It’s obvious this mellifluous anthem is a requisite addition to that spring and summer playlist you just started creating. Someone is a taste from ROMES’ upcoming debut album. I’ll be awaiting more updates regarding that delightful piece of news.

After hooking us with seductive summery lead single Someone, English trio We Have Band have previewed a second single off their upcoming album Movements, out April 28. It’s a frenetic electronic pop jam titled Modulate that reminded me of CHVRCHES, minus the icy, chilly synthpop pulses and elfen vocals that usually define their music. There’s also a delicious Yacht-esque disco pop sheen to the tune that will grow and grow on you with every subsequent listen.

English trio We Have Band is fairly fresh on my radar, but they’ve already made quite an impression. Their next EP, titled Movements, drops April 28 on Naive Records, and I’m completely taken by newly unveiled EP track Save Myself. It’s a dazzling, powerful, and frenetic dance punkish alt pop tune. It’s the second single off the EP, the first being the dreamier, slicker Someone. Revisit the summery tune below. I think I’m getting abundantly excited about this EP!

A few short weeks ago, I shared a song named Someone by a English trio We Have Band. The track is the lead single off their upcoming new album Movements, out April 28 on Naive Records. The relaxed, dreamy pop tune has been reworked by band member Tom. As if the song wasn’t already incredibly blissed out before, this remix is pure, meditative euphoria. Hailing from Manchester and London is a trio named We Have Band. They’re currently working on their new album titled Movements, out April 28 on Naive Records. Someone is the first blissful single off that release, and it’s quite the laid back, dreamy pop song. It’s sure to warm anyone up and chase away the blues.
