It’s a splendid Friday for fans of Phantogram like me. Sarah Barthel and Josh Carter have surprised us with two new tracks, one an original, one a Sparklehorse cover. All proceeds from the new two-track single go to a very good cause, one that’s far too relevant lately considering all the dear people we’ve been losing, both in our personal lives and within the music scene. The single benefits the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). For Sarah Barthel, who lost her own sister to suicide back in 2016, this is all too personal. Steam new song Someday above, which sees the typically trip hop and electro-rock duo go a dreamy meditative route. Their gorgeous cover of Sparklehorse’s Saturday can be streamed below.

It’s been well over two years since Australian artist Tanya Batt first blew us away with her amazing voice on her solo work, after which she began to debut music under the pseudonym BATTS. The singer songwriter recently released a debut EP entitled 62 Moons, and she’s totally moved us with haunting lead single Somedays, an alt-folk leaning song brimming with heartrending emotion and a gorgeously layered spacey modular array of synths & guitar. Somedays is a song that reminds us of the enormity of life and the everlasting power of heartbreak. BATTS’ five track EP is named after the 62 moons of Saturn, and that obsession with space is an underlying theme throughout her record. 62 Moons is out via THAA Records, find out more about it on BATTS’ website, here.

Falqo’s latest is a get up and dance delight featuring smooth cooing by Los Angeles’ Wild & Free, a collaboration much heart warming and ebullient. In fact, it even features funky bass lines courtesy of Touch Sensitive. Someday’s disco vibes are strong, plus it has some very welcome cowbells, which I happened to be craving for while I was at karaoke last night. Sadly, we only had tambourines in our dark little room, but the Australian producer is here to save the day with his snap popping jam. Chromeo electro funk goes sleek luscious Poolside yacht party ready on Someday, a free download, here.

Banta arrive boldly on my radar with a tempestuous and fierce prowler of an alternative song named Someday, a track from the Los Angeles quintet’s upcoming debut full length album, Dark Charms, out February 12th via eOne Music / Fast Plastic. Someday pounces with a hip retro groove reminiscent of HAIM, or rather, reminiscent of how HAIM reminds me of beloved 80′s acts like Heart and Fleetwood Mac. Banta has me wishing I had long hair to toss around glamorously to their glassy jam. Pre-order their debut album, Dark Charms, here, and get Someday today.

Parisian duo Vague Wave swoop onto my radar with some killer tunes, including this one, a future bass and trap explosion of ridiculously euphoric sound, named Someday. Someday has it all, pitched vocals, shimmering synths, sparkly chimes, and punchy bass. It’s exactly what this chill trap head loves, effervescent, beautiful magnificence and all. The uplifting track and basically everything else I checked out earlier on Vague Wave’s soundcloud has me hooked, deep.

OFFICIAL VID: Float Fall – Someday

Someday is a great slow burner of a dreamy debut single from this new duo named Float Fall from Belgium. It’s an explosive, cathartic tune with gorgeous dueting vocals. It’s impossible not to hear some similarities to The xx, though the music is far more lush and decadent. As the song builds up and the guitars flourish strongly, I can’t help but be taken away by the song. I’ll be waiting to hear more from Float Fall. Check out the debut video for the debut single below.
