Legendary indie folk pop siblings Angus & Julia Stone have finished crafting a brand new full length, and though we don’t have the release date for the album on hand just yet, we do have a spanking new tune from the beloved Australian veterans. Behold the lilting charm of Snow, the pair’s first new material in a couple of years. Despite its name, Snow is a warm thawing sunbeam made up of reedy, dreamy guitar pop. Snow is described as the first moment of a new chapter for the duo, who produced and largely engineered the song themselves in Angus’ cottage studio in the Byron Bay hinterland. “Why don’t you stay?” Angus & Julia Stone coo on the song. We’d love to, forever and ever, to the accompaniment of this languorous swaying new single.

I’ve noticed I seem to fall for bands named after ocean related landmarks, like Coasts, Islands, ISLAND, or these lads, ISLE. Perhaps it’s something to do with my undying love of the sea. Or perhaps, it’s because these bands are truly that good. My adoration of ISLE multiplies with the release of new single, Snow. The Scottish duo sweep us off our feet with a blusterous gale of poignant melodic alt pop and indie rock. ISLE explains: “Snow is centered around the hopelessness of Alzheimer’s. An ode to bittersweet memories and reality, Snow embodies both boisterous riffs and gentle delivery. It’s a track underpinned with something very real, and very powerful. It’s something a lot of people can relate to, but it can be a hard thing to describe.” Well when words fail, music succeeds. Snow is out now on all major platforms, here. ISLE is in the midst of a string of live dates in the UK with the final stop coming up on February 18th at Hove Old Market in Brighton.

I’ve always wondered whether it’s fortunate that it never snows here in the Bay since I detest freezing cold weather, or whether it’s rather sad, since we then miss out on that magical beauty of a snow covered landscape that seems to come hand in hand with the holidays. For a moment, we behold the tranquility of such a breathtaking world as we lose ourselves in Let It Snow, a transcendental new gem from Austrian chill house producer filous. He takes the Christmas classic and creates a uniquely mesmeric tune of his own, mixing folksy acoustics with mellow soothing electronica. Let It Snow is a gentle groover, an organic dusting of enchantment. The gorgeous holiday present is out on all major services, here.

Los Angeles act Machineheart’s single Snow is already such a majestic, bittersweet gem, but North Carolina based producer Myles Travitz takes it into spaciously atmospheric territory on an emotionally charged progressive house remix. It’s a moving edit that retains the original’s melancholic sentiment, but it’s also such a bold and blissfully spirited epic experience. As someone who loves Porter Robinson’s recent work and debut album, I can’t help but love this new approach on Snow.

Chicago electronic duo Win & Woo are back with a sweet tropical house remix of Nico & Vinz hit Am I Wrong. The remix is a thrilling, fist pumping, feel good ride through and through, with plenty of deep future house beats. If you haven’t paid attention to my previous Win & Woo features, tsk tsk. Check out their melodic house remix of RHCP’s Snow, below.

It wasn’t that long ago that I shared a great chill house remix of Red Hot Chili Pepper’s Snow by Lost Frequencies. Now, the tune has been remixed by Chicago production duo Win & Woo, and their spin on the track is wonderfully laid back and melodic, too. It’s nearly impossible to fight the urge to start dancing around in my seat to the acoustic beats, playful breeziness, and tropical weightlessness of the remix.
