Production heavyweight Marshmello is without a doubt one of the biggest electronic artists of the moment. He makes a much welcome cameo on the latest track from Slushii, yet another incognito production bigwig making a big splash on the scene. As someone who used to listen to mostly alt rock and emo rock in my younger days, I can’t help but fall for the alt rock and dance music hybrids that the pair have come up with for their new collaboration, though we’re no strangers to this sound having enjoyed so many of these artists tracks in the past. There x2, which comes with a colorful animated lyric video, is a high voltage, epic lifting track. It’s like Blink-182 gone future bass, or Matt and Kim gone trap and rock. The stadium ready feel good anthem is available, here.

There are so many incognito producers slaying in the electronic dance music scene these days. It’s been more than obvious that Slushii is a member of that troupe, a fact he drives home with a beautiful new original named To Say Goodbye. I’m not sure future bass has ever been as wistful as on this dewy eyed, bittersweet spiral of lurching synths, skittering beats, and ardent nuzzling keys. Effervescent fluttering, florid chromatic To Say Goodbye can be purchased now from iTunes.

Before you take umbrage over the fact that we’re delving into yet another Closer remix, please take note that this one comes from none other than Slushii, the enigmatic electronic artist who’s quickly become one of the most enrapturing producers of the year. That’s right, this remix of The Chainsmokers’ chart topping Halsey featuring hit is a must listen. Slushy frothing future bass and ethereal skittering chill trap take us soaring high above the clouds. As Halsey and Andrew sing on the song, “we ain’t ever getting older”. Slushii makes us all Peter Pans, unshackled from the earth, full of youthful wonder, bright eyed and bursting with optimism. Download the remix for free, here.

I suppose mysterious producer Slushii isn’t as mysterious anymore after his debut at HARD Summer last weekend, but he’s no less magical when it comes to his sparkling playful future bass. On So Long, Slushii teams up with Southern California’s Madi to captivate us with trickling keys, glistening vocals, and lithe beats. So Long is a fantastical electronic ballad, a twilight twinkling, emotive quivering chill trap and future beats wonder world. The single is out now on Mad Decent. Purchase from various outlets, here.
