Every time a new Maths Time Joy track surfaces, I know we’re in for quite the spectacular sonic experience. The Grammy-nominated UK producer & songwriter always links up with superb vocalists on his singles. Misunderstood is no different. Los Angeles neo-soul songstress Asal Hazel joins the producer on the track, intertwining her chiffon voice with his buttery crooning. Their vocals dance seductively over Maths Time Joy’s gooey ravishing bed of dreamy synths and slow burning funk guitar. Misunderstood is the latest track to be released off Maths Time Joy’s Sunset Motel EP. Stream prior releases on Soundcloud, here.

From the very beginning of Louis Vivet’s Slow Burn, we know we’re in for something epic.  A key turns in the ignition of a car and an engine kicks in. Suddenly, a dramatic pulsing of dark synths puncture the air, like a slow crescendo of adrenaline. Our hearts start to pump in sync with Slow Burn, and anticipation builds exponentially. It’s sweet release as featured vocalist, Los Angeles siren Mister Blonde, pierces that heavy atmosphere with her majestic soaring, brilliant towering voice. Production duo Louis Vivet delivers a phenomenal track that pairs retro synthcore with the wide expanse and sweeping energy of progressive house. Louis Vivet wanted to release something special in anticipation of their first show on Gareth Emery’s 100 Reasons To Live Tour, so they’ve released this splendorous track which they’ve been playing in their sets for about a year now. Slow Burn is available from various outlets, here.

Southern California’s Crywolf has been blowing my mind for some time now, particularly after he transitioned into an organic format that included much acoustic instruments and vocal display in the mix. A producer from Russia named Elènne, who somehow escaped my attention until now, gives us a dusky compelling revisit of Crywolf’s Slow Burn more than perfect for the late hours of the evening. Slow Burn gets a much regal yet meditative future bass and craggy trap makeover, spacious and smooth yet intense and powerful. This one’s for those restless 2 A.M.s, when your mind can’t stop turning circles on itself. Download the remix for free, here.

Los Angeles up and comer Andrew Grant last graced us with a soulful rendition of Post Malone hit, White Iverson. The producer has since linked up with electro R&B outfit RKCB, who deliver signature velveteen vocals on Andrew Grant’s Slow Burn. It’s an aptly named simmering soul and tense electronic beauty drenched in aged whiskey and fine wine. RKCB woos us with their satin crooning while the song wobbles and slinks along, building to grand levels of cathartic release. Download Andrew Grant’s new masterpiece for free, here.

Southern California’s Crywolf has demonstrated some versatile finesse since two years ago, when I first encountered his melodic bass music through his collaborations with other fantastic producers. Later this month, Crywolf drops his debut album Cataclasm, and he’s revealed a simmering crawler of an album track named Slow Burn. It’s a fitting name for the tensely brooding fourth and final single off Cataclasm. Captivating falsettos skim gravely over Slow Burn’s spiraling, charged ode to heartbroken desperation. Pre-order Crywolf’s debut album on iTunes before it’s out on November 20th via Okami Records.

Made In Heights is just killing it with their songs lately, one after one, showcasing a fantastic versatility with their varied offerings. Their latest taste off sophomore album Without My Enemy What Would I Do is a light and airy treat named Slow Burn. Despite its name, Slow Burn is a rather refreshing and sprightly R&B laced electronic pop song, with percussion that reminds me of some of Clean Bandit’s offerings and vocals reminiscent of a more soothing, cooled down AlunaGeorge. The Los Angeles based duo’s album will be out May 26th.

Premiered on The Sound You Need earlier this week is Slow Burn, a luscious groover from Los Angeles’ Durante. It’s an irresistible jam chock full of disco house chords and satiny smooth vocals. Slow Burn drops September 15 via NEST. This is the dance track that might keep you and your special someone warm as fall and winter approach.
