Even though winter seems like forever ago, I still recall January 5th like it was but last night, because that’s when I witnessed the magnificence of Los Angeles based singer songwriter Saro live at Popscene. And now, he’s contributed his remarkable voice to a new song from Slaters, the mysterious Brooklyn duo who held us spellbound earlier this year on debut single Danger, featuring TOULOUSE. One is Slaters’ second official single, a satiny sensuous future bass and misty nostalgic R&B pop tessellation. The single is available now via Terrible Records, here.

Mysterious new duo SLATERS, consisting of Al Carlson and Alex Craig, make their entry into the scene by making a strong statement with some soulful electronica and whimsical pop on debut single Danger, which also features IHM extolled Nigerian born New Yorker TOULOUSE on guest R&B pop vocals. The writing and production team interweaves plush swelling synths and soft rumbling bass with acute beats on the arresting ballad. If there’s ‘danger’ to be found here, I can’t help but be drawn towards it. ‘Keep it safe, play it cool,” coos TOULOUSE on the track. It doesn’t get more cool than this smooth debonair track. Danger is available now via Terrible Records, here.
