ELKI is most certainly a spellbinding siren on her debut, Sirens. The new artist from Australia delivers powerful alt pop on the darkly sultry piece inspired by neo-noir thriller, Body Heat. ELKI list of influences include Catatonia, Kate Bush, Stevie Wonder, and Burt Bacharach, but her soulful pop and stunning voice take on mesmerizing life of their own on grandly simmering Sirens. ELKI’s whiskey soaked sound evokes Amy Winehouse and Meg Mac. I’m already looking forward to ELKI’s next release. Sirens is available now from iTunes.

Nashville electropop artist Fleurie goes dark and cinematic on new single Sirens. And by cinematic, I mean orchestral levels of exquisite beauty. Sirens is an intense pop listen, with a Lana Del Rey like glamorously melancholic and transcendental beauty. Sirens is a song about heartache and loss, and its reeling poignancy and anguish manifest with power. Sirens is a haunting song, and quite possibly one of Fleurie’s best.

I’ve been fond of Cat Martino’s collaborative project with Sven Britt since I first heard their debut, Sirens, earlier this year. Stranger Cat is utterly enchanting and alluring on the sprightly, nimble electronic pop song. The slick and intoxicating song has a brand new music video accompaniment that matches its whimsical, pulsing production. Watch the video below. Sirens and all its gloriously glistening and sparkling synths is on Stranger Cat’s debut album, In The Wilderness, out now on Joyful Noise Recordings.

Israeli duo Lola Marsh sure struck a chord with me on their new twangy tune Sirens. The spaghetti Western laced and greatly bewitching folk pop song is a bold and fiery song, with vocals that greatly remind me of Lana Del Rey and sweepingly cinematic orchestration. Having finally watched Tarantino film Django Django quite recently, Lola Marsh brings me right back into that world. This intriguing new act just signed recently with Anova Music and appeared in many big festivals in Europe.

It won’t be long before Samuel Proffitt drops his debut EP, Blue Notebook No. 10. The Boston based producer has revealed a second single off the release that drops on January 27th. Sirens is a moody and steamy collaboration with another oft IHM featured producer, Massachusett’s AOBeats. It also features seductive vocals by Jeff Sontag and Jess Zobler, so it’s quite the festive affair. Despite all the cooks in the kitchen, Sirens is an incredibly smooth and sensual piece of soulful, R&B imbued electronic music.

Formerly known as Super Water Symphony, the now re-named Louisiana band Hydrogen Child has released their debut single under the new moniker. Sirens is a driving, infectious indie pop treat, carrying the pumping groove of HAIM, the warmth of Haerts, and the glistening shimmer pop atmosphere of bands like The Royal Concept, NONONO, and Youngblood Hawke. Along with the single, Hydrogen Child also unleashed an official video, which you can watch below. A new EP is on its way come 2015.

Young Summer has announced her next single off her terrific debut album Sirens. The Washington, D.C. synthpop singer songwriter chose Severing Ties to showcase. Like all that I’ve shared from the talented artist, Severing Ties is a dreamy, bittersweet treat, one of my favorite catchy tunes off Sirens. It’s also one of the more upbeat and popping tracks. I immensely enjoyed Sirens earlier this year, and when I introduced the album to a friend, she fell utterly in love. It’s her favorite album of the year, it seems.

The ever talented Cat Martino introduced her new project Stranger Cat, a collaboration with Sven Britt, via intoxicating, organic Sirens, an indeed alluring and slick electronic pop number. The synths glisten lusciously and Martino’s vocals are so seductively dreamy. Sirens will be on the duo’s debut album, In The Wilderness, out early 2015 on Joyful Noise Recordings. The release will be limited to 500 hand numbered copies on multi-colored splatter vinyl, which sure sounds enticing to me.

Today, Scottish duo Nieves released their debut self titled EP. If you’re not yet familiar with their moody, emotive music, Sirens will be the perfect, beautiful introduction, with its melting piano and earnest alt folk qualities. Are you fond of older Coldplay? Tom Odell? Kodaline? Elliot Smith? The National? Throw them altogether on this heart wrenching song, and get a tissue ready. Then continue sighing away to another stand out, melancholic tune off the EP, Straight Line. You can listen to the full EP, here.
