New UK duo APRE are off to an exciting start. Not only have they just released a fantastic first single named All Yours, but they’re already slated to perform at festivals like Great Escape, Live at Leeds, and more. Inspired by bands like Foals, Tears For Fears, and Bombay Bicycle Club, APRE reels us in with coruscant shimmering, plucky sashaying All Yours, our first taste of an EP they’re already preparing to release later this season named The Movement Of Time. The pair ooze confidence on the track, whose lyrics capture the intensity of that point where you are ready to fully give yourself to someone. Sparkling alt pop and perky art rock interweave as APRE showcases their prowess in writing and production as well as their skills as vocalists and multi-instrumentalists. You can also listen to All Yours via Spotify, here.

There’s a whole lot to take away from our week at SXSW this year, and though we expected some of our must-catch artists to be incredible, some of them simply blew our minds with their ridiculously good sets and sensational talent. FINNEAS is one such artist. Though it was a bit out of the way, we made sure to run over to the Central Presbyterian Church on 8th street for his one set of the week, and it was truly worth the effort. Finneas O’Connell, a Los Angeles based actor/musician who’s also siblings with red hot star-on-the-rise Billie Eilish, belted out some incredibly emotional ballads during the acoustic set, stunning us with his powerful and heartfelt vocals. It was magical, to say the least. Later in the week, FINNEAS played guitar during his sister’s sets (he was instrumental in crafting her debut EP, after all), but we’ll never forget the sheer magnetism and moving beauty of his solo acoustic performance, which at times reminded me of my experience watching Damien Rice live in a church, too. You can feel an inkling of that magic in Heaven, FINNEAS’ haunting and affecting new release which premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show. Heaven was also instantly added to Spotify’s highly-coveted New Music Friday playlist. Damien Rice meets James Vincent McMorrow on the cathartic hymnal, possibly one of FINNEAS’ most gorgeous releases yet. Sister Billie may be conquering the world with her pop right now, but it’s obvious she’s going to have to share the crowning limelight with FINNEAS and his profoundly moving music.

Canadian artist TABOR, who’s based out of Los Angeles, already has a robust following on YouTube from the past several years. Her new music delves into topics like depression, anxiety, and insecurity, with a palpable sense of vulnerability. ‘Her’ is one of her latest alt pop singles, and it’s a whiskey-drenched, husky simmering beauty that evokes Lana Del Rey’s sadcore music. The mesmerizing ballad is a dark lament, a bewitching and magnetic noire-pop gem. And it comes accompanied by a music video you can view below. You can listen to more of her music and indulge in that fabulous voice more on Soundcloud, here. ‘Her’, which is lifte from TABOR’s sophomore EP In The Garden, can also be streamed via Spotify, here.

New Los Angeles based starlet Sam Valdez literally took my breath away the very first time I listened to her single Hours. To say her voice is amazing is an understatement. Lana Del Rey’s oak smoked, whiskey drenched allure is met by the willowy gusting beauty of Billie Eilish and the sophistication and maturity of Cat Power or Feist on this poignant haunting noir-pop song. A minimalist electronic soundscape is laced together by Sam Valdez’s mournful singing. Sam Valdez will be releasing a debut EP, but not until early next year. Hopefully, we’ll get to hear this spectacular voice again soon, by way of new singles.

Why Bother is Luke Faas’ second single, and it’s a stunning sophomore statement from this Norwegian newcomer. The song’s nimble beats clatter gently like the soft pitter patter of rainfall while Luke Faas’ smooth cooing melts our hearts alongside rich swelling synths. The effect that this 23 year old singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist achieves with his electro soul & R&B pop is like a lighter, airier version of SOHN, with some of Jaymes Young’s satin allure. Luke Faas will be releasing his debut EP, Apathy, on June 16th via Easy Records. Why Bother, a collaboration with co-producer Nicolay Tangen Svennæs, is available from major outlets, here.

I’m still reeling from the news that just surfaced regarding how Johnny Jewel destroyed tens of thousands of CDs and vinyl after he had a near death experience a couple years ago. Those records were imprinted with that long awaited, highly anticipated new Chromatics album Dear Tommy, whose release date has been long delayed while the band has been apparently re-recording and perfecting the release. Though we’re still waiting for Dear Tommy, we get to enjoy some of Johnny Jewel’s production in HEAVEN’s It’s Not Enough. The song is this Italians Do It Better signed electronic band’s first single, and it comes with a mysterious video whose aesthetic goes perfectly the world’s fresh obsession with Twin Peaks and David Lynch. It’s Not Enough’s droopy darkwave and lavish synthcore is ghostly and foggy, gossamer and wispy… There’s no way this twisted 80′s heart can resist HEAVEN and their first taste from a debut EP.

This gorgeous debut has been making it way around for a couple weeks now, so we’re one of the late comers to FARR’s divine electro soul, but there’s no way in hell we’re going to let them slip on by our favorite music friends. Get ready to swoon aplenty as Chet Faker, HONNE, R.LUM.R, and Sam Smith like combination of gooey luscious, snazzy beatific vibes suffuse us from DOWN. The duo from Los Angeles and London are surely the new Casanovas of the electronic soul scene. Who can resist this debut? Snag DOWN from major outlets, here.

I can’t help but swoon to the sooty searing, soulful drawling pop rock that comes our way courtesy of a new band from New York City named Home State. The trio of good friends, whose ranks include Alex Friedlander, Matt Gralla, and David Berliner, arrives with a muggy seductive, passionately burning alt pop debut named Without Your Love. It’s nothing short of an ear perking introduction to Home State. The single is out now on iTunes.

New York’s Fletcher has without a doubt been a favorite blooming pop superstar here at I Heart Moosiq for the past year. She holds on to that crown tightly with her unforgettable single Wasted Youth, a track off her 2016 EP Finding Fletcher. Just the song’s title in itself evokes tragedy and woe. Our hearts were ready for a pop pummeling even before the first time we dove into Wasted Youth’s mellifluous swelling flourishes. The singer songwriter channels the honeyed charm of Lana Del Rey, the dusky allure of XYLØ, and the immense hooks of Transviolet on her electro tinged dazzler, but there’s no mistaking the whole to be anything else but brightly blazing and iridescent dashing FLETCHER. A new music video arrived this week for Wasted Youth, and it tells a vivid and moving love story to crushing and heartrending effect. The video’s eloquence feels honest, its portrayal is more than intimate. It’s a powerful aphrodisiac that goes hand in hand with tenderly affecting lyrics like “it’s my life, if I’m gonna waste it, gonna waste it on you”. Fletcher’s Finding Fletcher EP can be purchased from iTunes.

Sunflower is gut wrenching powerful, a tour de force atmospheric spectacular and a striking first introduction to Dear Kora. The rising Orange County ambient and alt rock group makes a stalwart entrance with their first single. Sunflower is reportedly inspired by lead singer Avery Robitaille’s move to America from Indonesia. It certainly feels windswept and grandiose, like Evanescence with a touch of Paramore’s pop punk and some of Meg Myer’s raw passion. We’re excited to hear more from Dear Kora.
