New 17 year old singer and producer Loveday hails from the Midlands in the UK, and she’s made quite a splash with her first single, a lo-fi electropop song named Close. Loveday’s music is influenced by the honest day-to-day life experiences of a girl her age, including first love, friendships, adventure, and growing up in the world. But Close is a song that resonates strongly with someone who’s long past that age, too (not to say I’m old, ahem). Its lush, syrupy synths and fleecy electropop is nothing short of snugly intoxicating. Speaking on her debut single, Loveday shares,”Close” all came from this really to the point chorus lyric that I think every girl my age has experienced – when you’re just in this moment with someone and ‘that’s it’. I spent ages trying to rephrase it, but then I realised that it’s powerful to be so straight-up, so we just cut everything out and just stacked multiple tracks of me singing the lyric pitched in different ways. It’s like a mini-anthem to just being true to yourself, being unafraid to say how you really feel and to just let go a bit.’ Close is available via major platforms, here.

1950 is King Princess’ debut single, a love song which the Brooklyn artist both wrote and produced herself.

Of the song, she says, “‘1950’ is a love song told through the lens of queerness—historically a publicly unaccepted but incredibly rich culture. Queer love was only able to exist privately for a long time, expressed in society through coded art forms. I wrote this song as a story of unrequited love in my own life, doing my best to acknowledge and pay homage to that part of history.” It’s a dulcet striking introduction to the vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter that feels heartfelt and sincere. King Princess plans on releasing a debut EP this spring, and we plan on instantanteously jumping on whatever she drops on us next after she’s enthralled us with such an immaculate first song, as well as her wonderfully soulful and honeyed voice. 1950 can be purchased/streamed, here.

We’ve been excited to share this huge new tune from Disco Shrine since we were afforded a serendipitous preview. The Los Angeles based pop starlet, also known for her DJing prowess and her crowd captivating stage performances, delves deeply into the personal on her aureate and luscious pop song Up In The Air. Slivers of retro synthpop and R&B pop vibes permeate the intoxicating ballad, giving us a nostalgic whiff of early Chairlift and even some Kate Bush in the process, alongside Up In The Air’s Say Lou Lou fluorescence and Shura plushness. Disco Shrine, or LA native Jessica Delijani, has crafted a ravishing single that’s very special to her. It’s about her parents immigrating to America after escaping the Iranian Revolution, and the struggles they encountered in order to start a new life here. The inspiring story behind Up In The Air is more than relevant in a day and time when our nation is struggling to cope with hate, exclusion, and pessimism. You can take this honeyed glowing, synth churning beauty for a spin via Spotify too, here.

19 year old Arizona born, Los Angeles based starlet Kailee Morgue has been named by many as an artist on the rise after releasing songs like Discovery and Medusa in the past. Her long awaited debut EP, also named Medusa, only affirms this sentiment with its four pop songs. The release is accompanied by a new lyric video for new song Unfortunate Soul, a sweetly lilting, breezy traipsing pop aria replete with the chanteuses’ delicate voice. The honeyed song tiptoes between clean guitars and glitchy beats. As 2018 progresses, we’re sure to hear much more about Kailee from esteemed tastemakers across the globe. She’s described as a tattooed, green haired, and anime obsessed gothic pop siren, and she certainly knows how to cast a sonic spell. Check out her debut EP Medusa on Soundcloud, here, and support via other platforms, here.

Gorgeous is an understatement when it comes to this new 19 year old Swedish singer songwriter’s debut, My Soul I. Anna Leone worked with Grammy nominated producer and mixer Bryan Wilson (Florence + The Machine, Wolf Alice, Arctic Monkeys, Stormzy, Lianne La Havas) on the song. Influences like Bob Dylan, Lana Del Rey, Bon Iver, and Laura Marling certainly shine through on this smoky raw folk meets intimate soul emulsion, but it’s also impossible to miss a touch of Lykke Li in the heartfelt ballad. Earnest and sincere, tender yearning My Soul I is a herald of a debut EP to come within the next couple of months, as well as some promised to be great music videos. Anna Leone’s first song cuts deep and reminds us of how vulnerable and pliable our hearts can truly be. My Soul I is out now on indie label Half Awake.
