We’re rather appalled that we missed out on this amazing voice from the UK prior to our encounter with her latest single, Silhouette. Grace Carter has already supported both Dermot Kennedy and Dua Lipa live, too. Her powerhouse vocals are soulful and deep, yet sweet and tender. Silhouette is the sort of song that really lets them shine, a sparse piano driven hymnal that feels incredibly honest and raw. A bit of Adele and some Seinabo Sey trickle through the classy and sophisticated ballad, whose video is also austerely captivating with its soft colors and a literal play on the song’s title. Grace Carter plans on releasing her first EP this spring, and she’s surely in for a fast ascent if she continues to serve up immensely moving songs like this one. If you missed her last single Ashes like we did, you can take in more of her extraordinary voice and affecting music through its video below. Stream/purchase Silhouette, here.

Any time new Leo Kalyan surfaces, I know to prepare myself for a satin entrancing, sensual captivating affair. The London based musician presents us with some of his most haunting R&B to date on foggy simmering Silhouette. This opulently produced song flickers and unwinds in a dusky bed of shadowy synths. Leo’s soft entrancing cooing cuts through that heavy mist, a defined and prominent “silhouette” in this multi-layered, cloudy slithering resplendence. Silhouette is taken from Leo Kalyan’s upcoming EP, Outside In, to be released October 28th via Godmode. Silhouette is availalbe now from iTunes.

My shares of Goldroom tunes goes so far back that a quick search concludes with results stretching three pages deep on IHM, so today’s news of a debut album is much joyous reason to celebrate. The Los Angeles based producer will be releasing debut album West Of The West on September 23rd via Downtown Records. He’ll also be touring alongside Chicago’s Autograf this fall with a stop at the Fox Oakland on November 4th. From the debut full length comes Silhouette, a breezy sublime beach or poolside groover. The pastel warm, laid back euphoric jam envelopes us in swanky disco house and funky electro, leaving me wishing our summer could last forever. But then again, I’d like fall to arrive too, so that we can take in the magnificence of West Of The West and dance the night away to Goldroom on tour. Pre-order Goldroom’s debut album from various outlets, here.

Aquilo tears through the armor of my heart with stirring new beauty, Silhouette. It’s something the British duo has done time and time again with their powerful, heart rending songs over the past two years. The orchestral pop song is breathtaking cinematic, its heartfelt piano and swelling strings concertedly sweeping me off my feet. Aquilo displays both song writing and production prowess on the song, a preview of the duo’s upcoming debut album due out later this year on Island Records. Hopefully the release will lead to a world tour, since I sadly missed Aquilo’s San Francisco debut the last time they traveled through California.

With a song title like Wolfbaby, I was already helplessly drawn towards this song. After all, I love animals, and wolves are pretty highly ranked on my list of creatures I’m fond of. Wolfbaby is Icelandic newcomer Karó’s second single, a dark and shadowy electronic pop song full of Nelly Furtado meets MØ moxie and fire. The sensuously simmering song follows up on the success of last release Silhouette, a must listen below if you haven’t heard it yet.

Karó, who grew up in Scotland, is going to create quite a storm if she continues to release songs of this magnitude. I’m already looking forward to a debut EP somewhere down the line.

Los Angeles duo Monogem released their self titled debut EP this past week, featuring plenty of their lavish synthpop tunes that have been featured on IHM. Also on the release is Silhouette, a glistening new tune with the pulsing electronic pop production tendencies of Claire or CHVRCHES. Silhouette’s most shining qualities are its contagious groove and the saucy retro pop vocals, which slice through the song like a bustling, brazen knife through butter. Listen to their full EP, here.

Somehow, it makes total sense that Ellie Goulding is featured on Active Child’s new song Silhouette, considering Ellie Goulding did that stunning cover of his song Hanging On in the past. Los Angeles artist Active Child has a new EP titled Rapor coming out on October 22. He’s been previewing some dang good tunes off the EP for the past few months. I’m eager for it after getting blown away by debut album You Are All I See back in 2011. The EP not only features Ellie Goulding, but we’ve also heard his more upbeat, new wavey collaboration with Mikky Ekko on Subtle. On the slow burning Silhouette, he returns to his shimmery, dreamy, haunting sound. It’s a beautiful piece of music, and Ellie and Pat’s vocals seem made for each other.
