Back to London we go to visit with a hotly tipped rock duo named Rews who have just announced the release of their debut album Pyro, out November 3rd via Marshall Records. Recent music video and single Shine is a glorious introduction to the pair’s raw and infectious alt rock. Rews consists of lead singer/guitarist Shauna Tohill and drummer Collette Williams. Its near unbelievable that just two people can burst forth with such thunderous drums, ferocious riffs, and ringing vocals. For more of the pair’s resounding rock, watch the video for smoldering Miss You In The Dark below, and prepare yourself for some heavy kicks and a wicked bass line. You can pre-order Pyro, here. Shine is available as a single, here.

You’ll want to take your chances on Montreal’s CHANCES, because the sonic sublime returns are guaranteed. Prepare to be bewitched as the new trio regales us with debut single Shine, an other worldly mixture of tribal clattering baroque pop and whimsical scurrying experimental electro. The band has already drawn comparison to the likes of Aurora, Farao, and Bat For Lashes with their first song, a mesmeric hymnal whose wiry nomadic vocals also remind me of Björk and Dirty Projectors, but laid over a The Knife like bed of aureate glimmering splendor. Shine is majestic and haunting, all at once.

Emerging chanteuse Asta is making quite a splash back home in Australia ahead of her debut EP and a national tour. Her latest taste from that record even features IHM favorite Yeo on production and co-writing duties. Asta gives us a resplendent dose of funktastic pop on aureate single Shine. This song will have you grooving and snapping your fingers in no time. Chic glowing Shine is a toasty warm treat from that debut EP, due to arrive in early 2017.

There’s no way in hell that a Sam Feldt remix of Years & Years could go wrong. And as expected, it goes very, very right. The venerated Dutch producer takes the electro R&B and pop darlings’ Shine for a spin, giving it an uplifting house refix with exhilarating progressions and gratifying full bodied synths. Sam Feldt will fill the whole of your being with warm ooey gooey goodness with this one. Shine is an understatement.

I was lucky enough to stumble upon Gone In The Sun today, and the Swedish band proceeded to sweep me right off my feet with their lustrous fusion of indie pop and alternative music on just released single Smile. Despite its warmth, there’s a bittersweet quality to Smile’s pining vocals and bright guitar. Smile follows on the heels of the quartet’s last song, Shine, from earlier this summer, also a must listen. I’ll tack that driving, powerful indie pop song below. It’s obvious this band is incredibly skilled at crafting and delivering moving, infectious tunes.

Young South London songstress RAYE continues to impress and woo with her sensual vocals and R&B soulfulness on a stunning cover of Years & Years’ Shine. It’s an entirely new approach on the song that changes Shine’s ambiance from its original bright and crisp energy into a murky, smoldering turn down. Sensual and gripping, RAYE’s Shine is more of a muted glow, a nebulous and cloudy serenade. RAYE will, in fact, be opening for Years and Years in London this weekend.

Fresh off dropping that brain jiggling song Snow Globe as one half of Dux Content, PC Music’s Danny L Harle is right back at it with a sprightly, high flying remix of Years and Years’ Shine. It’s a Shine that carries all the hallmarks of PC Music, the fizzy soda bubbles, wide eyed chipper bounces, the inflated helium air… but punctuated with some ominously droning lulls. I can’t help but enjoy the contrasting atmospheres and the animated tempo of the warped remix.

I almost feel like I need a drum roll before I share this next one, because that’s what a new Years and Years single requires. That’s right, today sees the big reveal on a brand new song from the rapidly rising BBC Sound Of 2015 winning band from the UK. Shine is from Years and Years’ debut album Communion, out July 10th via Polydor. I’m waiting on pins and needles for that day to come, but in the meantime, I get to twirl around my office like a fool to Shine, a glowing, sparkling song that has all the Years and Years qualities we love. Olly Alexander’s sexy voice? Check. Grooving house beat? Check. R&B and pop hooks? Check. Illuminate it all in a ray of 80′s saccharine warmth, and we have yet another Years and Years winner! All that’s missing is the band itself, in front of me, pelting out the song… I’ve already seen them live twice, but I’m going to have to catch them again soon.

German electronic duo Artenvielfalt remixed Felix Jaehn’s Shine, featuring Freddy Verano & Linying. I’m quite fond of the original catchy jam, and Artenvielfalt manages to morph it into a funky and bass resplendent house tune that’s purely seductive and impossible not to start dancing around to.
