Light & Love

March 13, 2013

Vancouver bedroom pop producer Teen Daze put a new track up on his bandcamp today, titled Light & Love. It’s available to buy for $1 and the proceeds go to support Benjamin Curtis of School of Seven Bells. If you still haven’t heard yet, he’s fighting his way through cancer treatment and could really use the support. There are many artists and bands trying to drum up some support for the cause. Don’t just stream the gorgeous, shimmery, chillwave track, help out if you can and head to Teen Daze’s bandcamp!

Holy crap. This was a surprise of the day. Ever thought pairing School of Seven Bells with Walk the Moon? No? Well, I haven’t either, but here it is, folks, a remix of Walk the Moon’s Tightrope by School of Seven Bells! And boy, it sounds pretty good. Walk the Moon’s upbeat, feel good indie rock/pop gets a magical sheen and some synthy undertones. Sweet stuff.

Alejandra de la Deheza (School of Seven Bells) + CREEP + Tricky

December 5, 2012

Now for some mega spiritual and haunting music. Alejandra de la Deheza is one half of the shoegaze dream pop act School of Seven Bells. Today, she announced a collaboration with New York witch house/electronic duo CREEP and British musician Tricky. The end result is this new CREEP song titled Call Her. It’s very hypnotic and foggy.

Breathtaking

School of Seven Bells performed their gorgeous song Scavenger off album Ghostory for Bowery Presents. In a shop full of mannequins. But instead of totally creeping me out, I found myself mesmerized and stunned. It’s almost the perfect setting for their performance. Mannequins. Who’da thunk?

New video for School Of Seven Bells first single off upcoming album Ghostory, Lafaye! This one really grew on me since I first heard it previewed. The vocals on this are absolutely beautiful, and the music is dreamy synthy as expected. Turns out, Ghostory is a concept album about a girl named Lafaye who can interact with ghosts. Now I’m curious to delve deeper into the story of (gho)story of Lafaye. I really like the idea of what they’re doing, and backing it up with magnificent music only makes it even more of a cool project.
