Once known as Swim Good, Canadian musician Jon Lawless now goes by Swim Good Now. Along with the name change comes a gorgeous new song on his buddy Ryan Hemsworth’s label Secret Songs. It Was The Longest Day Ever also features Canadian duo Georgian Bay and Nandi Rose Plunkett of Brooklyn’s Half Waif as welcome guests. The lead single from Swim Good Now’s forthcoming full length Daylight is a pastoral and languorous, hushed and delicate folktronica gem whose soft dewy glow reminds me of the first days of spring. On such days, we look forward to the coming summer months with fervent yearning, just like how we might long for someone we miss with much intensity. A sliver of hope hangs in the air even as we mourn the void that lurks in our hearts. It Was The Longest Day Of The Year is a truly talent studded collaboration. It was even co-produced by Japanese Wallpaper and Aaron Mohr.

French outfit Club cheval’s Discipline has received a royal remix treatment by ever brilliant Canadian music chameleon, Ryan Hemsworth. He takes the lush R&B and house jam into a world of murky beats and gooey glue, much like some of Cashmere Cat’s tunes but permeated with some droopy, glitchy Clams Casino. The original is the title track from Club cheval’s highly anticipated debut album. Ryan Hemsworth’s remix is a part of their Discipline Remix EP, out on iTunes.

LA based Phillippines native Spazzkid has decide to retire his artist name and release music under his real name, Mark Redito. If new song 3am Apologies is any indication, the name change is accompanied by ever growing brilliance in the production arena. 3am Apologies is released on Ryan Hemsworth’s much respected Secret Songs series, and it’s a dynamic tapestry of fluidly undulating future bass, topped off with dark beats and moody R&B vocals. Absorbing 3am Apologies laments and yearns with an inebriating complexion. Download Mark Redito’s 3am Apologies on Soundcloud.

I’m immeasurably happy with the new Ryan Hemsworth that dropped today. The Canadian producer has proven himself versatile and talented over the course of the past year and a half or so, both live and recorded. He enlists Chicago alt artist Dawn Golden (one half of duo Houses) on this latest tune, Snow In Newark, a breathtaking listen full of sentimental beauty. It’s our first taste from his upcoming new album, speaking bounds about the potential brilliance of said release. This is some of his best music in a short while, in my opinion… I mean, Cream Soda was fun, don’t get me wrong, but when it comes down to it, this is where my heart lies. I love the melancholic but sublime picture the song paints. I can nearly taste the snow in Newark on the tip of my tongue…

Woke up to a few great tunes, including this new one from always amazing Canadian producer Ryan Hemsworth. He teamed up with a producer from Australia named UV Boi on incredible new track Gods, a mind bender of a track that even has some odd text message ring tones thrown in at a few choice moments. It’s both a turbulent ride and a, no pun intended, but divine and dazzling number.

It’s certainly a late afternoon filled with splendid remixes, and we ring in the hours of the evening with a dreamy take on UK songstress Sinead Harnett’s Snakehips featuring No Other Way by none other than brilliant and versatile Canadian producer Ryan Hemsworth. Anything Ryan does comes off amazing, and the same can be said of this track, which alternates between breezy lightness and upbeat, dance inducing moments.
