The sheer amount of production talent that makes up supergroup Slow Hours is jaw dropping. The French collective involves Lain, Kultur, Astre, Khamsin, Kidswaste, and Rusty Hook. They first rocketed out of France four months ago as a united front on an exceptional remix of What So Not and Ganz’s Lone, featuring Joy. They’ve now given Petit Biscuit’s Sunset Lover the an epic transformation. The summer breezy, wistful nostalgic aria goes grand atmospheric on Slow Hours’ remix. Its orchestral magnificence reminds me of British composer Max Richter. But then that symphonic narrative explodes into vibrant fireworks. Electro house, future bass, and dubstep fuse together robustly to create a widescreen reel of technicolor brilliance. This tour the force sprawler is on the new Sunset Lover Remix EP, out now and available from iTunes, here. The six track release also features edits by Daktyl, Bearcubs, Clément Bazin, and OTR.

Heads up, electronic music loving kids! A new “supergroup” of French producers has formed, and their name is Slow Hours. Lain, Kultur, Astre, Khamsin, Kidswaste, and Rusty Hook have combined their bountiful talent to give us Slow Hour’s first track, a turbulently exhilarating and tremulously gripping remix of What So Not and Ganz’s Lone, featuring JOY. This ruffled intense bass and trap remix is wildly tempestuous yet chromatically stunning, a ferocious gleaming eruption of gut punching beauty. What So Not promises a full Divide and Conquer remix package soon. In the meantime, you can stream or purchase that EP, here. Slow Hours’ Lone remix can be downloaded free, here.

There’s a word for literary terms that sound like what they describe, or onomatopoeia, but is there one for songs that sound like their names? There should be, because French producer Rusty Hook’s magnificent new one, Drip, is a dynamic study in drizzling, meticulous sound. Among its many dizzying elements: choppy droplets, frenzied flows, and even pitched vocals stating the word “drip” out loud. Drip is a future beats river of incredible contrasting texture. It has an almost cooling yet dazzling effect on this warm summer, er, autumn night here in the Bay. Download Drip for free, here.

I’m obviously slowly edging into my more EDM and bass focused part of today’s session already, and what else do I love more than chill trap and future bass these days? They’re like, the sound du jour for my ears. Previously featured Denver based producer StéLouse returns with a bubbling, effervescent collaboration with France’s Rusty Hook on Spacebar. It’s a sweet team up with massive results. The polished, blissed out track is a perfect treat that sits somewhere in between the caffeinated dolphins & beaches of Wave Racer and the shimmering, heady frenzy of Cashmere Cat.

I’m thoroughly impressed and incredibly happy to have come upon Denver based producer StéLouse today, via a great new remix of rising Arizona songstress Zella Day’s East Of Eden, which you can stream below. Upon hearing the remix, I just had to check out what else StéLouse has to offer up, and I found myself stuck on his SoundCloud, digging everything I hit play on. Recent single Joyride, which you can stream above, is a well crafted, mesmerizing, and highly intricate chill trap number. The producer also recently teamed up with France’s Rusty Hook on Space Bar, below, a beautiful, powerful explosion of Waveracer like sonic bliss. Don’t forget to check out the Zella Day remix, which showcases her crystalline, delicate vocals over dark, grand, percussion heavy production.
