Though Royal Tongues’ latest song is named Overdose, there’s no possible way to ever overdose on the Los Angeles indie pop duo’s overflowing enthusiasm and lively spirit. Overdose leaves me eager for even more of the band’s radiant indie rock and jouncing electro pop. Royal Tongues is royally hooking on the colossal anthem, a larger than life burst of ecstatic energy much like The Wombats gone Passion Pit. Overdose is out now on iTunes.

My spirits shot sky high the very moment that I noticed new Royal Tongues has arrived. The Los Angeles based indie pop duo have delighted me endlessly in the past with their brightly glowing, deeply contagious music. Oblivion is no different, an animated and spirited first single from an EP to come this summer. The song shimmers grandly, engulfing me with Passion Pit meets The Wombats synth melodic warmth. If Oblivion is any indication of the EP to come, we’re going to have a fantastic Royal Tongues sort of summer.

Los Angeles indie pop duo Royal Tongues revealed another new song today, bringing plenty of bright color and glowing vibrancy on One And Only. As always, their brand of alt pop music carries a mirthful energy that’s deeply contagious. New Royal Tongues is always a welcome treat in my book. The gleaming song first premiered yesterday on fantastic Southern California music blog Free Bike Valet. One And Only will also feature on new comedy film Sisters, starring Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

Royal Tongues dropped a new tune today named Higher, and it will take you higher alright, with their signature sounding boisterous and sweeping indie pop sound. The New York based band create a wall of sweeping sound on the bright, crunchy tune. They seem unable to craft songs that aren’t immensely hooking and gripping. I’m again reminded of acts like The Royal Concept, NONONO, and Youngblood Hawke, but more rocking.

New York based Royal Tongues follow up on deeply infectious and anthemic debut single The Balance with another radiant gem, named Rollin’ On. Like The Balance, Rollin’ On is an uplifting, sweeping indie pop song with plenty of alt and synthpop qualities. It’s more laid back than the prior song, in a carefree, breezy way. With a second offering like this one, Royal Tongues is quickly proving themselves one to keep an eye on. Let’s listen to that burst of luminous energy that is Balance again below. I highly recommended if you dig The Royal Concept and Youngblood Hawke.

I’m very fond of New York band Royal Tongues’ recent debut single The Balance, and it’s such a treat that the track has been remixed by none other than beloved indie rockers Ra Ra Riot. Their rendition of the incredibly lively indie pop song is a much more languid and delicate listen, infused with some of Ra Ra Riot’s signature baroque style. Revisit the original below, if you missed my loving praise previously. Do you like Youngblood Hawke? The Royal Concept? Don’t miss out on this again.

Since last Thursday, I’ve been waiting for today. Why? Because on Thursday, I was introduced to a new band out of New York named Royal Tongues. They’ve since premiered their debut single The Balance, and it’s a superbly bright and anthemic alt pop piece produced by Like A Parrot. The Balance is vibrant music that will lift spirits and spawn sing alongs. It’s a song to be blasted, loudly, while you’re driving with the windows down in a worry free, joyous state of mind. Think Youngblood Hawke and NONONO meets Passion Pit and you’ll get an idea of how wonderfully sunkissed and infectious this tune is. Now I find myself curious how Royal Tongues’ next tune will stack up. I’ll be waiting!
