I’ve had Spoon’s new album Hot Thoughts on constant rotation in my car since its release last month, and this song, the title track, happens to be my favorite track, so how can I not share its new music video? Get ready to strut with confidence as you dance to this earworm, now accompanied by footage of Spoon from SXSW last month. Aside from Hot Thoughts, the album sports plenty of incredible tunes ranging from the funky to the popping to the electronic. It even closes out with a phenomenal instrumental track. Snag Spoon’s latest album, here, and catch them on tour through August.

My list of albums to be wildly excited for this year has already grown to be a very long affair, and one album that holds a top spot on that list is Spoon’s Hot Thoughts, expected to arrive March 17th via Matador. That same week, they’ll also be curating and playing three nights of music at SXSW. I have a feeling people are going to be clamoring to get into these shows, and I’m hoping I’ll be able to make it in to one of those nights. For now, we get a new taste of Hot Thoughts via this new video and song, Can I Sit Next To You. The clip itself is rather eerie and unsettling, while the song is a plucky strutting, funky whirling art rock jam. Spoon can be as spooky as they want, they’re more than welcome to “sit next to me” any time they want. If you pre-order Hot Thoughts digitally, here, you’ll get the title track and Can I Sit Next To You as instant downloads.
