We’re super excited about this new artist, G Flip. She’s made a stunning pop debut on About You. Though this is her first solo foray, the indie pop artist from Melbourne, Australia is no stranger to the music scene. She’s a member of a band named EMPRA, and she teaches music to kids, too. About You arrives with an endearing lo-fi video in which we get to watch Georgia Flipo showcase a plethora of musical talents while belting out her crisp and sonorous synth and alt pop track. Skittering percussion rolls and smooth vocal calisthenics endow the larger than life song, a HAIM, CHVRCHES, and Kimbra like coagulation of scintillating magnificence. It’s readily apparent that this is one producer, singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist to watch. Alternate streaming and purchasing options can be found via Triple J Unearthed, here.

I’m not going to lie, I’m more than kind of proud that prolific trap and bass producer KRANE (fka KRNE) hails from right here in the Bay. The Oakland based talent continues to collaborate with other amazing artists by linking up with Toronto’s Keys N Krates on vigorous shuddering, tense quivering Right Here. The song is a dream collaboration for this fan of both these projects’ heavy heaving, intense gripping soundscapes. KRANE and Keys N Krate have crafted a sublimely spasmodic melodic trap and future bass dazzler, and it’s a sexy scintillating thrill ride that repeatedly ruptures with searing energy and grit. Right Here is out now on iTunes via Dim Mak.

21 year old French singer songwriter and producer COZY revealed the first single from his forthcoming EP. Right Here is a sweeping deep tropical house ballad. It’s the exact dose of radiant beach sunshine and injection of invigorating elation I need as I prepare to take on a jam packed Friday night after a long, tiring week. Download the marimba saturated carefree sparkler over at COZY’s Facebook page.

OFFICIAL VID: Jess Glynne – Right Here

June 20, 2014

British soulful songstress Jess Glynne released a video for her debut single Right Here, a grooving debut and earworm of a spunky tune. I’ve been a fan of Jess ever since I feel head over heels with Clean Bandit’s Rather Be, which features her on vocals, so I’ve been more than elated that she’s launched her solo career. And, as always, I gotta love the horns on this tune.

It would seem that most of the western world should know who Jess Glynne is by now. If not, then you probably don’t pay attention to the “featured” section of song titles when you listen to madly buzzing, brilliant songs. UK collective Clean Bandit collaborated with Jess for vocals on a little tune named Rather Be. You might have heard of it. Soon after the song was released, I mentioned that the soulful songstress was embarking on a solo career. No surprise there, since this seems to be a regular and proven route to take for many talented artists nowadays (ie. Sam Smith, John Newman, Ella Eyre, etc). This week, Jess Glynne announced her very first single, and it’s a tasty, emotional gem named Right Here. It’s a popping, groovy number that reminds me of the likes of Gorgon City and MNEK.
