My heart literally seems to jump into my throat when the creamy vocals and seductive beats of this new version of Jean Tonique’s Guest, featuring Iris, woo me fully, leaving it very hard for me to breath. The Parisian producer offers up a heart touching edit of the funky house song, giving us a downtempo late night presentation fit for some divine lounging under those crisp and sensual bed sheets. This “alternate vision” is saturated with melodic guitars and much centered on Iris’ throbbing vocals.

Love and music go hand in hand. One inspires the other, linked forever in a never ending cycle of torment and rapture. I suppose it makes perfect sense that many extraordinary songs came out on Valentine’s Day this year, and they certainly spark plentiful love within me, as Giraffage’s Make You Love Me does. The San Francisco based producer gives us a moist and misty future R&B approach on Bonnie Raitt classic, I Can’t Make You Love Me, one of the greatest heartbreak songs of all time. Make You Love Me overflows with stirring emotion, a beautiful re-imagining of a beloved classic. Download the gem over at Soundcloud.

I’ve been one of the lucky ones who’ve previously caught Jamie xx and Four Tet side by side at a club, a true meeting of music brilliance in one night. I’m brought back to that magic by Four Tet’s new re-imagining of Jamie xx’s Seesaw, which features his The xx bandmate Romy. The original comes off of my number one album of 2015, Jamie xx’s debut full length, In Colour. Four Tet takes Seesaw for a mesmerizing, ethereal spin on his alternate mix. The club rework reminds me of Caribou’s music, but gauzier and soupier. I feel as if I’m traversing a surreal dream. I’m floating down a shimmering river under a clouded sky, and the whole world is softly wavering between various hues of pastel. I don’t want to wake up from this dream.

The Fugees’ Killing Me Softly is a timeless classic, one much loved all around. You’d better bring the goods if you’re going to give us a new contemporary rendition of the tune. Recently emerged alluring chanteuse MOONZz and fellow Los Angeles resident, producer VenessaMichaels, join forces to give us a stunning update to the song. This is a Killing Me Softly steeped in future effervescence and permeated with Jersey bounce. The level of searing vibrancy and fine texture on the thrilling track is reminiscent of Lido and Cashmere Cat. Download the masterful rendition for free, here.

Australian synthpop and disco geniuses, Du Tonc, the brilliant duo made up of Matt Van Schie and Mighty Mouse, rear their innovative heads anew with a rework of 1992 Annie Lennox classic Little Bird. It’s been forever since I last heard that old hit. The version of Little Bird that Du Tonc brings us is a refreshing update, a mesmerizing deep house breath of disco tinged fresh air. There’s an immense sense of wonderment within the remix. That “little bird” is about to take flight over the most magnificent panoramas, eyes open wide, heart pumping alongside Du Tonc’s crisp beats, mind dazzled by the vast beauty of the world. This is a lush and liberating house edit that sets my spirit free. The remix, which has received support from The Magician, Tensnake, Yuksek, and The Aston Shuffle, is a generous free download on Du Tonc’s Soundcloud.

UK duo DREWXHILL has me melting helplessly to the ethereal gracefulness and soft sensuality of their rework of Olivia Chaney’s Imperfections, from the folk artist’s recent album The Longest River. The duo consider Olivia Chaney one of the most talented musicians they had the pleasure to see live, and having had Olivia’s album on repeat for months has lead them to an inevitable cover of Imperfections. Their love for the song is obvious on the breathtaking cover, a grandly atmospheric and bleakly minimalist alt electronic interpretation with intensely booming drums and incredibly emotional vocals. I find no imperfections here, all I hear is impeccable beauty.

Washington, D.C. production and DJ duo Cerulean City sheds fresh light on Justin Timberlake hit My Love, which is incredibly nearly 10 years old. The duo inject it with grooving, thumping house energy. It’s a plushly pumping, sumptuously deep My Love that makes dancing compulsive. Download the colorful and flashy track for free, here.

Charli XCX’s Need Ur Love has never been more sparkling beautiful, thanks to a rework done by Australian producer Japanese Wallpaper. This is a Charli XCX we haven’t heard in awhile, one more tender, toned down, and delicate. The pop star’s recent music has been pompous and bold, but some of my favorite music by the British artist is still her earlier offerings. This ambient, twinkling official remix reminds me of that era. Japanese Wallpaper takes her into a world of heart rending enchantment.

As you can probably tell, I go through so much music every day that at times, when I go through a string of not as spectacular music, I wonder if I’m becoming numb to it. Then something special comes along and renews my faith, invigorates my ears, and drives me to heights of glad elation. That’s exactly what happened earlier today when I stumbled upon an incredible chill electronic cover mashup that joins together two beloved songs, MGMT’s classic hit Electric Feel and Glass Animals more recent slinky anthem Gooey. Californian producer Olmos teams up with soothing vocalist Jovani Occomy on the mashup cover, a lusciously relaxing indie dance and chill house work of mosaic magic. I have absolutely no idea how I let this slip past me till now, but this boogie ready cover of James Blake’s magnificent opus, Retrograde, by Virginia Beach producer Carneyval, is far too deliciously sensational to pass up on now. Not only is this a Retrograde brimming with killer disco swag and frisky funk guitars, its phenomenal vocals are delivered by Celeste Stoney, the very American Idol finalist and Los Angeles songstress who spellbound me with her jaw dropping vocals late last year. Like I said, I have no idea how I missed this spring release till now, but nothing’s going to stop me from euphorically soaking it all in now. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go dance circles around my couch, something I never thought I’d be doing to Retrograde. Download the hot jam for free, here.
