I know a band as well established as Cold War Kids really doesn’t need any support from a little blog like us, but we’ve always been about sharing good music, and this fresh new taste from the band’s forthcoming album La Divine is far too good not to give it a bump and a shout. Plus, I’ve been such a devout, long time fan of the Long Beach rockers’ bluesy soulful rock that I can’t help but continue professing my love for them, especially if they keep sounding this fantastic. There’s no dearth of nostalgia in Restless, and the video with which it arrives perfectly encapsulates the human emotion flowing freely from the song. La Divine is shaping up to be yet another fabulous Cold War Kids album, plus it also includes So Tied Up (Los Felix Blvd) which features one of our faves, Bishop Briggs, on guest vocals. Pre-order the album, here, ahead of its April 7th release.

RKCB seems to be everywhere these days, whether guesting on other talented artists’ tunes, getting remixed by prodigal producers, collaborating with fellow indie darlings like Opia, or dropping brilliant originals of their own. In fact, the Los Angeles based R&B soul project just unveiled their new EP, In Contrast, earlier today, and as expected, the five track delight is solid gold through and through. Among the freshly revealed tracks from the EP comes Restless, a moody burning, heart melting ballad with lush swelling production and poignant stirring vocals. Prior to today’s EP release, RKCB had revealed another fantastic tune from In Contrast named Enough, an anguished beauty of a serenade you can stream and sway to below. Both tracks boast some forward thinking future styled oscillating production. Stream In Contrast in full on Soundcloud.

There’s no better name for SHEARE’s new single than Restless. The NYC based project created by Brandon Sheer recently signed to Nettwerk Music Group (Mike Posner, Fun., Passenger) and he melts us to the core with this florid confection which he tags “capri-sun pop”. Restless jitters in a languorous fashion, as if basking in the haze of an afternoon sun. It brings me back to my youth, when the inertia of long summer days drives me to want to do something, but I don’t know what. The day draws on and the ticking of time itself seems to slow. Come to think of it, given the chance, I’d be quite content just listening to SHEARE as he serenades us with his honeyed falsettos and dreamy alt pop.

NYC based Nigerian artist Oyinda released her debut EP, Before The Fall, today to much critical praise. The fourth and final track off said EP is Restless, a stirring song with bewitching electronic production and beats bordering on a minimalist style,. Yet, there’s a deep seated lushness to the soulful song and Oyinda’s beautiful, pristine vocals.

Say hello to Norwegian indie rock band Kaffmaddafakka and their new track Bill Clinton, a great specimen of pop filled funky fun. The video they put together for the track is made up of footage from the film Youth in Revolt starring Michael Cera. The song is light and bright, sure to lift any heavy heart. Kaffmaddafakka have been around for awhile now, and they have a new album in the works as of yet untitled.

I’m new to these guys, so I looked up some more of their music. Digging. Below is Restless from back in 2011.
