Wasn’t it just yesterday that I shared a new RAC remix and talked about how Andre Anjos seems to have a penchant for releasing new tracks in close batches? Well, here you go, case in point, RAC is back with another remix today. This time, he’s remixed Coasts’ infectious alt song Modern Love. Side note, I have a sad face on because I was supposed to see Coasts tonight and they cancelled. But sadness aside, this RAC remix of Coasts’ Modern Love is absolutely delightful. He’s infused it with just the right amount of restrained dance pop energy, keeping Coasts’ massive, cinematic sound intact.
RAC, aka André Allen Anjos, never seems to take a break. On top of releasing his own original tracks and EPs, RAC continues to give us excellent remixes that I can never turn away from sharing. He also always exhibits such a wide array of sounds and genres in his work. This is demonstrated in his latest remix, a rendition of Los Angeles artist Cillie Barnes’ beautiful ballad Veranda. It’s a super charming, slightly synthier remix that stays very true to the original, yet there’s a bit more cheery bounce to it that will really get you swaying.

What??? As if we aren’t already so excited to have a new Tegan and Sara album this year, the twins also contributed a track to the HBO series Girls’ soundtrack? Them too? Sheesh. Maybe I need to watch this show sometime and see what all the hoopla is about! Not only do the twins have a new contribution for that soundtrack, but the lovely Fool To Cry is produced by RAC and it’s a Rolling Stones cover! Win win! It’s a sultry, soulful slow jam, not at all what we’re used to from Tegan and Sara or RAC. It only goes to show their versatility and talent.
Another week, another RAC remix to tempt our feet into shuffling and moving. Here’s the sweet electro housey remix of Pacific Air’s Float. Yep. This makes me feel like dancing. Even in my chair. Below is the much breezier, relaxed original cut, which I’m pretty fond of too. The RAC remix is a completely different approach for a completely different mood.

Yesterday’s release of Bloc Party’s first single off Four, Octopus, blew up the blogosphere and machine. Who else but RAC would be so quick to throw up a mad wicked remix of the tune? Listen! It’s a very welcome remix as Octopus seemed like it was just asking for someone to redo it into something dancier and with more energy. And RAC always does it well.
