I won’t lie, we’re not exactly old fans when it comes to Rainbow Kitten Surprise. But we’ve fallen quick and hard for the North Carolina veterans after hearing their singles Fever Pitch and Holy War, plus how can we not love the band’s name? Rainbows? Kittens? Yes, please! The band just released their new album “How To: Friend, Love, Freefall”, and our copy of the album on CD has just arrived. It’s sitting pretty next to me right now, I can take a photo if you need proof. I can’t wait to pop it in for a listen. To celebrate, that’s share another tune off the  new album, an earthy slapping alt song named When It Lands. In case you missed those previous singles, check out our prior feature, here. We’re still majorly obsessing over Rainbow Kitten Surprise’s recent releases (and their fabulous band name). Fever Pitch could easily be one of the year’s best alt releases to date, and Holy War was a treat of a slinky scampering track, too. In case you missed our feature of the songs, please make your way over to the post, here. You can thank us later. The North Carolina band is gearing up to release their new album “How to: Friend, Love, Freefall” soon on April 6th. As we countdown the days to its arrival, take in the band’s melodic riffs and chunky bass lines of dusty drawling Hide. The album is obviously shaping up to be an excellent release. A hint of Modest Mouse’s wandering whimsicality saturates the laid back saunter of a tune. Pre-order Rainbow Kitten Surprise’s new album, here.

Aside from having one of the best band names ever, Rainbow Kitten Surprise has just released a fabulous new song and video from their forthcoming new album. Holy War is a slinky scampering alt track off ‘How To: Friend, Love, Freefall’, the North Carolina band’s next full length arriving on April 6th. Euphonious harmonies and a plucky bassline that evokes Alt-J embellish the superb song. Holy War comes on the heels of their last single Fever Pitch, which you can catch via its music video below, too. Pre-order Rainbow Kitten Surprise’s new album, here, and catch them on their U.S. tour this spring, which you can find out more about on their website, here.
