Welcome the newest member to one of our favorite labels Neon Gold. Sinead Harnett has been a favorite of mine for the longest time. For many of you she’s been on your music radar for quite some time too. The London artist Sinéad Harnett has been Boiling the dance and R&B sound waves for years. N.O.W when Sinéad’s sweet vocals first entered my life it took me to Paradise as she is featured by stellar artists like Disclosure, Rudimental, Kidnap Kid, and Snakehips. I’ve come So Close to seeing Sinéad Harnett live and I couldn’t imagine there’d be No Other Way than in Austin for SXSW. Unfortunately she had to pull out. I love seeing Chapter 1 come to a close though and hearing new music from the London songstress.

‘Body’ is the perfect song for this rainy Friday night in the Bay Area. Friends of mine are on spring break and I can imagine this song as someone’s theme. You’re catching up with friends and they’re asking if you dropped that fuckboy and you don’t want to look like a fool but damn it, spring break is almost over and you deserve to be feel love whether it’s fake or love so just keep it a secret and you can have my body.

I always appreciate Sinead’s music not just for her sound but also for her vulnerability. Such a beauty.

I’ve always loved rain, as long as I didn’t have to get stuck in traffic during a tumultuous storm or get drenched trying to get somewhere fast. There’s a magical tranquility and a cleansing beauty to it, which Australian duo Water Park has expertly captured in their beautiful ambient pop song, Rain. I all but melt to the pure atmospheric gem. Without rain, we cannot heal and bloom once again. It’s a reminder of our innocence, and a balm for heartache. As Water Park so succinctly quips on Soundcloud, “no rain, no flowers.” Rain is transcendental, a supple and feathery sonic salve. For more of the duo’s music, head to their Soundcloud, here.

It’s been raining recently here in the Bay Area. I was scrolling along my soundcloud feed and saw this track ‘Rain’ by new spell. Ironic that they’re from San Francisco too! It’s an indie pop song where Leanne casts a spell, leaving you in a dark trance. They have a show in Mountain View this Friday and one in San Francisco the following week.

It’s going to be April in a few short weeks, and vinyl heads all know what that means. Record Store Day is just around the corner! RSD has grown to be a major event in the past several years. Just visit your local independent record store on RSD and you’ll see a line wrapped around the block long before the doors are even open. Thanks to this ingenious homage to an age old classic method of listening to music, we get to hear some very rare treats around this time every year. In fact., today, we even get to hear an unreleased Foals song! Rain, which drops as a 7″ on Record Store Day, is a moody beauty, a sparsely introspective ballad that seems more Majical Cloudz than the raucous Foals we’re normally accustomed to, with some added U2 atmospherics and Bono like vocal calisthenics by Yannis Philippakis. This year’s Record Store Day falls on April 16th. I wish you luck in your record finding quest.

NYC duo Gentlemen Thieves are skilled bandits. They know how to steal my heart, and that one of the fastest ways to do so is to offer me some hypnotizing, mesmerizing trap. The siblings balance choppy synths, oscillating bass, smooth R&B styled vocals, and HudMo like grit on Rain. It’s the perfect smooth and chill trap jam as I prepare to head out into the wet weather here in San Francisco for a night of live music. Download rain for free, here.

I HEART MOOSIQ PREMIERE:

Washington, DC quartet Color Palette return with their third song, an electrifying synthpop meets electro-rock anthem named Rain. The glistening song is both luminous and brooding, a full bodied electrifier with an airy new wave vibrancy and a profusion of buzzing synths. Underneath its gliding, slickly toned atmosphere is a touch of dusky Tears For Fears meets Depeche Mode post punk and synthwave darkness. The potently intoxicating song adds to the newcomers’ growing repertoire of magnificent, grandiose songs. Visit their SoundCloud to listen to prior songs Heartless and Seventeen.

Driving and catchy melody… passionate vocals…  warm, lustrous synths… what’s not to love about Janice Prix’s hooking new tune Rain? It’s a heart melting synthpop jam for those who love music by acts like Magic Man, Bleachers, and The 1975. The quartet hails from Sweden, despite their French name, but Rain is laced with a spoken word verse in French, which always seems to make music that much more romantic and endearing.

If soulful, opulent alt hip hop music melts your heart, check out this gorgeous new tune from a charismatic new Manchester duo named Batz Inda Belfry, formed by female rappers Envy and One Da. I can’t help but love their name, too. Rain is a playful, rhythmic track that dances about gently, like the light touch of its namesake. Batz Inda Belfry has been raising some buzz back at home, having recently signed to hot UK indie label R82 Records. A highly anticipated debut EP, Two Fly, will be released December 8. Rain is the second track off of it.

I haven’t shared a remix of Seattle duo Odesza’s stellar tune Say My Name, feat. Zyra, in many days now, but today, I break that silence with a refreshingly laid back and chill rendition by Chicago duo Win and Woo. They’ve even thrown in some rain sounds on the track, representing the cold, wet weather they’ve been experiencing over in the Midwest, giving them cause to sit back, relax, and put some headphones on. Well, thank you rain, if that’s what rain causes Win and Woo to create for our hungry ears. These are the fellas who gave us that fantastic tropical remix of Nico and Vinz’s hit Am I Wrong a few months ago.
