Oooh. I’m a big fan of Active Child, aka Pat Grossi, so I had to check out this new tune Nolita that he offered up today. It’s a collaboration with rapper Gilbere Forte, produced by Raak. It’s a surprising one for many, but as Grossi explained, he grew up listening to hip hop and has plans to create more material for us in that genre. It’s pretty cool, but I’m still most fond of Active Child’s work off his debut album You Are All I See. The sounds do meld together wondrously. His silky nu gaze/dream pop sound works great with hip hop. The rap verses are alright, but add in Grossi’s crooning, and it’s worth sharing.
