Swedish electropop duo R.A.B.B.I.I. (Revolutions Are Best Before Initial Inception) first bewitched me last year with their debut single Why Can’t I Be You, a very Grimes meets CHVRCHES treat. They return now with their second single Hang Us High, an equally spellbinding and ethereal sparkler. Along with its effervescent future pop styled production, R.A.B.B.I.I.’s sleek vocals on the track also remind me of fellow Scandinavian acts like Elliphant and MØ, with a touch of AlunaGeorge sensuality. It’s a soaring, intoxicating second offering that has me hoping to hear more material from R.A.B.B.I.I. this year.

This tune made me do a double take when I checked it out earlier today, quickly catching my attention with its magical, fantastical, and ethereal characteristics. R.A.B.B.I.I. is a new Swedish electronic pop duo, and I’m as lost as you in regards to how to pronounce their name (rabbi? rabbee?). They released a music video for their debut single Why Can’t I Be You, which you can gaze away at below. The song is a very Grimes meets CHVRCHES like Scandinavian pop tune, with some very, VERY dark lyrics. As Grimes seems to have gone into trap and heavier bass territory, maybe R.A.B.B.I.I. is here to pick up where she left off with the airy, edgy, and buoyant electropop songs.
