OFFICIAL VID: Jack White – Would You Fight For My Love?

September 12, 2014

Starting today off with a magnificent new video from the great Jack White, for Lazaretto track Would You Fight For My Love?. Watching the video earlier today brought me back to the brilliance of that album, released on Jack’s Third Man Records earlier this year. I also have the Lazaretto Ultra LP at home, and this convinces me to finally take the shrink wrap off that baby and give it a spin (plus, I’ve yet to examine all the easter eggs and cool features). In the video, you also get a good gander at Jack’s new hair style. He’s chopped those messy locks off, and he’s looking pretty good.

Cage the Elephant’s new tune is a can’t miss for the day. It’s a stupendous new single titled Come A Little Closer from the Kentucky rock group’s coming third album Melophobia. There’s a psychedelic quality to this one. It even leans towards pop with its hooky, explosive chorus. There’s certainly less of the grittier sound of the band’s previous work. I’m loving the direction, and I wonder what others think about it, particularly die hard fans. Come A Little Closer comes out on October 8 on RCA. I’m extremely curious to hear the rest of that release.

OFFICIAL VID: The Wytches – Beehive Queen

May 31, 2013

UK rockers The Wytches dropped a video for their surf doomy noise rock single Beehive Queen. As expected, they seem to be creating some ripples with thier music these weeks. While Beehive Queen is a lo-fi garage sounding track with an almost Jack White-ish punk bluesy flavor, their other work I’ve featured previously reminded me greatly of some of Bright Eyes’ work as well as other alt bands, ie. Ludo. I’ll share the audio for moody, raw Crying Clown again below the Beehive Queen clip.
