We’re kicking things off today with a jolt, courtesy of a buzzing new UK band named Avalanche Party. It’s an avalanche indeed that crashes upon us via their cinematic video for new single Solid Gold. With it, they display their propensity for noisy, psychedelic garage punk. It’s no wonder the lads are drumming up so much praise back home across the pond. Solid Gold has already been added to Huw Stephens’ Best Of Radio 1 BBC Introducing Playlist and Avalanche Party’s live reputation already precedes them. Just imagine how savagely exhilarating Solid Gold could be from below the stage, in all its riotous roaring, dark glowering glory. Those of you in the UK can catch Avalanche Party at various gigs throughout the month. Solid Gold will be out on December 2nd via Amazing Record Co.’s Singles Club. If Regine’s French verses on the oh so awesome Arcade Fire song Reflektor put you in the mood for more French music, then this is for you. I love the French verses on Reflektor, and it certainly made me yearn for more. Psychedelic punk rockers LA FEMME released this dark, delicious  new video and track Packshot off of album Psycho Tropical Berlin. The song is 1 part Crystal Castle-esque gothiness, 1 part snappy electropop, and 1 part psych punk coolness. What is it about spunky French music? Le sigh.
