Wrong is a word I’d never ever associate with Brooklyn’s pronoun, except on this rare occasion, when the one-woman band lead by Alyse Vellturo has released a new song named “wrong”. The zestful hooking guitar pop song feels ever so right with its lush prancing guitars and galvanic vocals. “wrong” is the second single from pronoun’s forthcoming debut album, set to drop sometime this year. Intimate lo-fi pop meets lithe and animated rock on her new anthem, of which pronoun explains:

“For the longest time I was so angry at her, and the news that should have been the final straw actually just made me feel really bad for her which spun me in to the weird emotion of how can you feel sorry for some one you "hate”? How is that even possible, do other people feel this way? I guess in a way it’s what I would want to say if i wanted to talk to her–which obviously I don’t–so i wrote this song instead.“ You can find the endearing new single on iTunes, here.

Late last year, a Brooklyn project named pronoun waded into the scene with a song that I’m still deeply obsessed with. “a million other things” is a woolly luscious synthpop gem bathed in 80′s aura, and it’s snappy chorus is unforgettably infectious. That very song has now been remixed by another project we love, Boston dream poppers Funeral Advantage, as part of a new rework EP named “Use passport to choose new location”.  Funeral Advantage’s “a million other things” is divine, a dreamy post-rock meets chillwave cruiser that reminds me of Tycho. You can purchase the single or pre-order the reworks EP from iTunes.

There’s “a million other things” I could and should be doing right now, but I’m more than content spending my time with a new artist emerging out of Brooklyn named pronoun. The alt and synthpop artist arrives with a snappy hooking first tune, A Million Other Things, a song whose woolly warmth, luscious guitar licks, and 80′s aura evoke both Muna and Clean Cut Kid. A Million Other Things is the first single off pronounc’s debut EP, set for release this fall through Rhyme & Reason Records. Order the single or pre-order the EP from iTunes.
