PREP’s Don’t Bring Me Down has been out for a hot moment, but it’s also a hot and funky jam that we can’t miss sharing. The hotly tipped four piece from London whisks us away on another satin grooving, festive swinging ride with the vintage R&B soul meets smooth pop dazzler. PREP, comprised of a hip-hop producer, a classical composer, a house DJ, and a singer songwriter, released their debut EP ‘Futures’ in 2016 to much acclaim and over 7 million streams online. They’ve made a stylish return with our first taste from PREP’s forthcoming EP ‘Cold Fire’, due out in April and featuring guest spots from Anderson .Paak producer Pomo and new Kitsuné signing Reeva DeVito, alongside Korean RnB wunderkid DEAN. Excited? We are! We’ll be on the lookout for those collaborations. In the meantime, grab Don’t Bring Me Down, here.

“Who’s got you singing again” is certainly not a question that I get asked very often, considering how very rare it is that I sing in public or hang out at karaoke joints with my friends, but I must confess, I feel a need to whistle like a joyous bird while listening to PREP’s new smooth strutting, honey soulful jam. Who’s Got You Singing Again is a satin carpet ride back through long gone decades. PREP woos me with their dreamy cooing and move me with their pastel groove, leaving me looking forward to their debut EP, Futures, due out October 14th. Pre-order from B3SCI.

Lush future soul and bubbly future pop envelop us on another swooning new tune from PREP. The UK quartet’s Sunburnt Through The Glass is a searing track despite its mellow, silken coolness. Despite its light and airy punchiness, there’s an intensity to PREP’s music, a sensual ripeness and a fevered fervor. The four piece band, comprised of a hip hop producer, classical producer, house DJ, and singer songwriter, take inspiration from  a wide variety of acts including Steely Dan, Michael McDonald, and Bobby Caldwell. On the new single, they’ve fused together a hip swaying, spine tingling combination of R&B, funk, jazz, and pop.Sunburnt Through The Glass is PREP’s second official single.

From the previous share, a remix of an AlunaGeorge featuring track, we move on to a song remixed BY AlunaGeorge. The UK future pop and electronic R&B act take on PREP’s excellent future soul debut, Cheapest Flight, giving it copious amounts of of their signature jagged bounce and loads of immensely seductive sax. Rippling and pulsing with spellbinding future funk and house liveliness, George’s Cheapest Flight is no budget trip, it’s chic and lavish, zippy and romping.

London’s PREP woo me over immediately with their very first offering, a meandering future soul debut named Cheapest Flight. If a flight is indeed involved, it must be one from the 70′s, when everything was gilded, luxuriant, and polished. PREP is intruigingly comprised of a hip hop producer, an opera composer, a house DJ, and a singer songwriter. The new quartet offer up flushed vocals and minor key melody on Cheapest Flight, evoking a buttery blend of Fyfe with HONNE, but matched with the grooving, hip swaying retro funk effects of Toro Y Moi and the future bass richness of Hayden James.
