It was more than a year ago that my heart nearly broke in two when Swedish/Norwegian band Postiljonen announced their break up. I had fallen n love with their pellucid dream pop and soaring synthpop when IHM was but a wee little side project what seems like a lifetime ago, and the news hit me rather hard. So, you can imagine the pure joy that filled my heart when I found out that Postiljonen has returned. They do so in fine fashion, with a crystalline soaring, pastel gleaming, and 80′s pumping pop performance on new single Crazy. No Postiljonen indulgence is complete without glorious horns, of which Crazy has its ample share.

Swedish band Postiljonen is one of the bands I Heart Moosiq has been devoted to since near the beginning of the site’s inception. Ever since I heard their magnificently dreamy, M83 reminiscent song Supreme, my heart was theirs. The band return with chillwavey, sax euphoric song L.I.E., an acronym for “Lovin’ Isn’t Easy”, taking us to new heights with their sleek skyscraper pop, once again drawing comparisons to acts like M83 and Air France. Excuse me as I float away into the stratosphere, far far away from my keyboard….

My heart skipped a beat when I first saw the subject line from an email standing out bold and with significance as I perused my inbox this morning. Quickly, my eyes caught the following words: POSTILJONEN RETURN. I feel deeply in love with Postiljonen a few years ago, thanks to the Swedish and Norwegian synthpop acts’ incredibly dreamy, sometimes M83 like sound. The band released an excellent though underrated debut album in 2013 then they seemed to disappear into thin air. It’s with much pleasure that I get to share their return, a blissful, sublime song named Wait. It brings me right back to why I fell head over heels for them in the first place. Lush, plush folds of hazy, foggy warmth glide and swirl around me while I listen to Wait. The sax imbued, 80′s infused heavenly song was most definitely worth that wait. Excuse me for a minute, as I can’t keep myself from floating all over the room while sighing in elation.

OFFICIAL VID: Postiljonen – On The Run

Earlier this year, I gleefully featured Norwegian/Swedish synthpop act Postiljonen when I discovered their amazing, M83 plus Wild Nothing like tune Supreme. They went on to release their debut album Skyer, which is an intoxicating, dreamy, inspirational listen. Now, they’ve released a video for their hazy, blissed out beauty On The Run. It’s a super chill track to sit back and relax to. Revisit Supreme below On The Run, because it’s that fantastic, especially with the saxophone near the end.

During the summer, I featured a Norwegian/Swedish synthpop trio named Postiljonen. Their songs Supreme and On The Run quickly reminded me of M83 and many other fantastic dream pop and synthpop bands that I love, particularly due to their use of horns. The band quickly gained some buzz before releasing their debut album Skyer. All That We Had Is Lost is one of the tracks off that album. The smoky, languorous track has now received the remix treatment by Greek chillwave duo Keep Shelly in Athens. The delicious approach immediately reminded me of Minneapolis electronic R&B act Poliça. Watch the video for the original album track below. Postiljonen will be releasing an All That We Had Is Love EP come October 21, which includes the above remix and a few other tracks.

I’ve been zealously on the Postiljonen train since I first stumbled upon their M83-like, soaring Supreme back in April. The synthpop trio hails from both Sweden and Norway and they’re starting to garner some well deserved attention. They have a debut album named Skyer dropping soon, and they previewed this wonderful, GLORIOUS tune from the album named Atlantis. It’s nearly impossible not to compare the track to M83 also, with its synthy chillwavey super summer vibe and, most of all, with the endearing horns. For those missing M83, this might fill in that hole in your heart for now. It’s an intoxicating Balearic track. Check out Supreme again below, though I’ve shared it a multitude of times already!

Postiljonen’s On The Run

June 5, 2013

Back in early April, I stumbled upon a Swedish/Norwegian synthpop trio named Postiljonen and was immediately taken in by their dreamy song Supreme. At times, the beautiful track made me think of M83. The other songs I listened to by them also impressed me. Now, the band is all set to release a brand new album named Skyer. Check out chillwavey album track On The Run, which is perfect for the coming summer nights. Revisit Supreme below On The Run. Ahhh… =)
