Creative label bitbird has put together a new Gouldian Finch compilation, and the second track revealed from the release is a new Taska Black banger named Leave Me. The Belgian producer hooked me right in with his brand of raw intensive future trap which beckons for my Hudson Mohawke, Flume, and Rustie loving heart. Leave Me bounces between regal cinematic moments and coarse pummeling, tense fiery climaxes. If this isn’t a trap masterpiece, I don’t know what is. The full bitbird compilation will be out on July 15th. Leave Me is out now on iTunes as a single.

Any reason to re-share Bearson’s Want You, featuring Cal, is enough to embark on a re-visit of one of my favorite electronic songs this year, much less a reason like this one. The Norwegian producer has unleashed a music video for the electro pumping, pop enamoring gem, and It leaves me unable to resist diving back into Cal’s smoky vocals and Bearson’s lustrously addicting, vibrantly chugging production yet again. As expected from the start, Want You has been madly popular in the month or so it’s been out, racking up near 1 million streams on Soundcloud already. Its infectious brilliance is obvious. Plus, who doesn’t relate to the urgent desire and yearning radiating from the bittersweet beauty? Want You’s video takes us to a laundromat, where some tenacious flirting and coquettish antics occur. If this is what it’s like to do laundry in a laundromat rather than at home, I know where I’m going with my dirty clothes! I’m finding myself a laundromat, where a handsome producer from Norway might be hanging out, so that we can dance the night away together. Are laundromat dance parties even a thing? Because they should be. Want You is available from various outlets via Next Wave Records, here.

Several weeks ago, Breakbot dropped a sexy slinker of a funky jam on us named 2Good4Me, easily renewing my love for the French producer. I’ve had my mind set on getting my hands on a ticket for his show at the Independent in San Francisco in May since it was announced early last week, and I think about it nearly everyday as the sale date approaches this Friday. Of course, Breakbot also dropped a killer new album this past Friday. Off of Still Waters comes Man Without Shadow, another sensational work of electronic magnificence from Thibaut Berland. The mid tempo jam features Irfane on guest vocals. It flickers and struts, oozing plenty of Breakbot’s French house and disco funk but in a slow slinking, snugly seductive fashion. Head over to iTunes to grab a copy of Still Waters, out on Ed Banger.

Some time ago, I discovered a local San Francisco producer by the name of T-Mass, who has an incessant love of melodic dubstep and counts Seven Lions and Skrillex as influences. We were both at one of Skrilly’s Take Over shows, and both chose the Mezzanine stop that had Seven Lions opening. Subsequently, I fortuitously stumbled upon a status update he posted about the show and, naturally, made a beeline to his music. T-Mass’ influences can be clearly heard on his cinematic, well restrained, and highly emotive music. On his latest track, T-Mass remixes Irish artist The Eden Project’s Chasing Ghosts, and it’s quite the gut wrenching, mesmerizing listen.

Blackbird Blackbird is really emerging as one of the most brilliant, formidable electronic producers here in the San Francisco scene. He impresses me more with every new release, and I’ve had the pleasure of catching his sets live a number of times. On June 6, Blackbird Blackbird will drops his new full length album Tangerine Sky. The title track is one gorgeous, amazing ambient gem. I loved it so much, I posted it on my personal Facebook feed this morning the moment I heard it (and had it on repeat many times). It’s a cathartic, breathtaking composition that I can’t help but drift away to in euphoria. This may be my favorite Blackbird Blackbird tune yet… In fact, I’m pretty sure it is!

Second CHVRCHES related share of the day, but this Kingdom Remix of the Scottish electropop group’s anthem Recover is a deliciously ominous and minimalist version. It’s a quirky rendition of a much loved and often remixed tune, done for the Recover EP coming out on March 10. Who doesn’t love another good new angle on the tune, off one of last year’s best albums Bones Of What You Believe?

Viceroy’s Passion Pit remix

December 7, 2012

OH boy. As if Passion Pit isn’t lovably dancey and melodic already, let’s throw Viceroy in to remix one of the album cuts! Carried Away is another one of many awesome tunes off Passion Pit’s album Gossamer, and quite possibly, the most cheerful, happy one. Who didn’t enjoy that album? Listening to any songs off that album just brings me right back to this past summer. The San Francisco house producer tempts us to have a full on dance party from start to finish with this remix. It’s almost endlessly hopped up & bubbly and makes me oh so giddy.

OG album cut:
