When we think of summer days hanging by the pool, we’re reminded of youthful crushes and playful shenanigans, so it’s more than fitting that a song like Young Love would come by way of German outfit Pool. The ebullient feel good anthem is a welcome return by a band who last enamored us nearly a year ago with their uptempo, radiant indie pop on Forever Like That. If you’ve ever wondered what Milky Chance would sound like if they went sun kissed dance pop and sanguine indie rock, with a light dusting of Phoenix and a drizzle of Two Door Cinema Club, Pool’s Young Love is your answer. An 80′s synthwave and French house driven rendition of the song accompanies the new tune. You can take Phil Speiser’s glorious remix for a spin below.

It’s a beautiful and warm Saturday afternoon. Who else should we listen to but German trio Pool? Their crunchy endearing uptempo indie pop is the perfect companion to summertime shenanigans under a brilliant sun. Their song Forever Like That is Milky Chance gone dance pop with a touch of DNCE and POWERS’ funk pop. Forever Like That comes by way of a new music video, too. Pool side hangs, cruising in the car with the windows down, dancing the night away…. can’t it be forever like this, with Pool at our side? Forever Like That is out now on iTunes.

There’s no resisting the infectiousness of this next one, Papa Ya’s second single, Outta Here, featuring Portland outfit Con Bro Chill. The Los Angeles duo’s bright dance pop and colorful chill house is the soundtrack for your next big pool party. As Papa Ya says: “Grab your Coronas and prepare to dance your booties off!” You’ll be singing along to its jovial hooks and clapping along to its stomping beats, too. Outta Here is a summer party anthem and an unforgettable earworm of a jam. It’s also a free download, here.

It’s always a treat when new Win & Woo arises, but the fact that their latest remix is an edit of brother sister duo XYLØ’s L.A. Love Song makes me feel like the luckiest girl in the world. Two amazing acts I’m super fond of combined into one summer ready anthem?  The music gods smile upon me! The Chicago production duo have given the dark intoxicating gem an uplifting twist, one that manages to stay true to the original’s emotive beauty but suffused with the energy of jouncing beats and effulgent animation. I’m brought into a flushed love story part celebratory, part meditative, and one hundred percent exhilarating. Win & Woo give us the perfect indie dance jam to frolic poolside on a warm day, while we coyly ogle our gorgeous summer crush. Win & Woo’s remix is part of the brand new America (The Remixes) EP that XYLØ  just released last Friday. Purchase from iTunes, here.

Porsches’ second song Karate is already such a rad tune in itself, a buttery and sleek electro R&B and pop anthem that only made me fall ever more for the mysterious Sydney act. Now, we get to dance exuberantly to a club mix of the song by POOLCLVB. As his name implies, POOLCLVB’s cool and bumping Karate is the perfect beach or pool party accompaniment. It’s as slick as they come, a thumping, summery deep house banger. The remix is part of a three track remix package available now on iTunes via Sweat It Out!

This one’s a fantastic update to a spectacular oldie but goodie. Queen of R&B, Mary J . Blige, soundtracked some spectacular party years of mine with her irresistibly catchy and spunky Family Affair. It brings back so many good memories for me. Now, fast rising New York producer INSTRUM brings that affair back with a rich and chic summer remix of the classic. The pool side and club floor ready remix is bathed in sultry strings, crisp percussion, and flashy horns, a fiery yet refreshing new way to re-visit Family Affair indeed. Download INSTRUM’s remix for free, here.

German trio Pool returns to grace IHM with more of their crunchy uptempo indie rock splendor, courtesy of a new video they’ve premiered for dance rocking treat Innervisions. Like other tracks I’ve shared from these fellas in the past, Innervisions is a punchy, catchy, dance rock leaning tune, full of buoyant guitar and a vibrant bass line. The video is crafted out of footage from their days on tour last fall, supporting The 1975. The track is available for free off Soundcloud. Pool is working on a debut album for release in spring. They also just announced some dates for the German leg of their album tour in April.

German trio Pool made their funky, crunchy song Can’t Help Myself (Hold On) free for download on SoundCloud. On it, they carry over that warm disco funk and dance punk flavor we heard a few weeks ago on What It Is. A video for the song will be premiered tomorrow morning. Revisit What It Is below, and get lost in the catchy, summery tunes.
