I don’t normally associate calling the police with anything positive, but KING’s Police is most certainly a blissful affair. The Danish pop chanteuse resurfaces after awing us earlier this year with electro R&B debut Promise to give us spunky dancehall imbued electropop on Police. This airy bouncing, gritty thumping, and sassy riveting ballad further cements KING as a fierce emerging talent to watch. If you adore Elliphant and MØ with the vivacious club vibes of Years & Years, this one’s going to be right up your alley. Police is out now on all major outlets, here.

I’m counting down the days till SomeKindaWonderful’s self titled debut album releases on June 24. The Cleveland alt pop band has had a hold of me ever since debut single Reverse lured me in earlier this year. Finally, after hearing some brilliant covers of classic hip hop songs, they’ve given us some new music off the forthcoming release. Police is a gritty, infectious anthem that continues that dark, grainy sound that we heard on Reverse. It’s a fantastic tune for those that dig both Imagine Dragons and The Neighbourhood, as it lies somewhere in between.

OFFICIAL VID: Snoop Lion ft. Drake and Cori B – No Guns Allowed

April 3, 2013

I was contemplating whether to share the new video for Snoop Dogg, er, Lion’s No Guns Allowed, since I already shared the audio with gusto in March. But, I do like the song a lot and the video’s pretty cool (albeit a little controversial). Not gonna get into anything political here, so let’s just enjoy the music. As previously mentioned, No Guns Allowed features Snoop’s daughter, Cori B, as well as Drake and Stewart Copeland (of the Police) on drums. Diplo co-produces. It’s a pretty tight rasta reggae track along the lines of Snoop Lion’s new peaceful creedo.

Snoop Dogg, I mean, Snoop LION, dropped a brand new slow tempo reggae tune today titled No Guns Allowed. It’s another one co-produced by the great Diplo, but on top of that, it’s also a Drake collaboration! On top of THAT, it features Snoop’s daughter Cori B. Wait! I’m not done! Guess who plays the percussion on this track? Stewart Copeland from the Police! What a whammy, and what a great tune. No Guns Allowed is off Snoop’s album under his new Lion name, Reincarnated, out on April 23. Diplo/Major Lazer executive produces the whole thing.
