I’m still very much obsessed with LOVE SICK’s debut single Bullet, a song I consider one of the year’s best electronic pop debuts. You can re-visit the Scottish newcomers’ original, a twisted love song that’s also fiery resilient, here. LOVE SICK has revealed a stripped down piano version of the song, and it’s a raw emotive, vulnerable and exposed gem that really brings out the agony and poignancy of the song. The acoustic, minimalist rendition of Bullet is a heart pummeling experience. The original version of LOVE SICK’s Bullet can be purchased, here.

I nearly had to pick my jaw straight off the floor the other day when I encountered Hannah Grace’s cover of Fatboy Slim classic Praise You. It was the very first time I heard her pristine voice, and this UK newcomer is simply stunning on this raw and emotive “piano version” of the song. Hannah Grace’s Praise You is likely familiar to those who have seen the latest Lloyds Bank TV advertisement that has been airing nationwide in the UK. Her perfect vocal control and her astonishing range are reminiscent of London Grammar’s Hannah Reid, with perhaps even more soaring, soulful power. Hannah Grace’s astonishing version of Praise You follows on the release of a second EP entitled Mustang and live performances at huge festivals like Glastonbury and Boardmasters, as well as a headlining tour. How I haven’t heard of this magnificent talent until now evades me. Hannah Grace grew up influenced by the likes of Joni Mitchell, Eva Cassidy, and Steven Nicks, as well as jazz singers like Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, and Aretha Franklin. The singer songwriter is spending time in the studio right now perfecting her debut album. You can purchase this stark beauty of a cover, here.
