Sometimes, I wonder if Pharrell actually lurks on the pages of IHM. We discovered and featured Maggie Rogers over two years ago, supposedly just before he discovered Maggie Rogers and helped to propel her to her current level of fame and buzz. And we’ve been fans of incredibly gifted NoMBe for well over two years, and now Pharrell is heavily touting his horn, too. In all seriousness though, I kid, I’m sure Pharrell, who has a knack for finding talent, picks up on these amazing artists in a myriad of ways far removed from our little corner of the interwebs. I’m infinitely glad he’s hopped on the NoMBe train though. Pharrell describes the Los Angeles based artist’s music as “…for the subconscious… He writes and produces dream sequences.” This is never more apparent than on Can’t Catch Me, the latest chapter in NoMBe’s monthly singles series leading up to his highly anticipated debut album. We’re literally transported to a different time period, a parallel universe, by this funky 60′s soul piece that features LA art rockers New Mystics. Woozy upbeat and snap-tastic spicy Can’t Catch Me really can’t be caught… You’ll want to tap your feet and snap your fingers as you run after this virile driving dazzler. It rushes forth with such feral passion. Can’t Catch Me was personally chosen by Pharrell as the theme song for new HBO documentary Outpost. Grab the song from iTunes, here.

Cris Cab might be new on my radar, but he’s not new on the scene. In fact, he’s championed by Pharrell, who seems to be putting his (never aging) weight behind some sensational emerging talent these days. Pharrell is even executive producing the Miami based singer songwriter and musician’s sophomore album, from which comes this first teaser, Together.  What grabs my attention from the get go is Cris Cab’s vocals and the ease with which he delivers the song, a mix of tropical flavored dance and soulful pop. Together is crisp and refreshing, light and effortless. And it’s a free download, here.

If I didn’t look I would have thought this was a Jay Z and Pharell track. Hailing from Uptown NY comes McCoy with his first single “GoodGirls”. McCoy’s ode to the classic girl from next girl will definitely be a dance hit in hip hop clubs. It’s going to be hard for me to take this off repeat. This song will be on his upcoming EP ‘Loosely Based on Women’ which will be available early 2016.

Dutch producer Full Crate is back with his luscious blend of R&B and house on fantastic new tune Special, which is really special indeed. It’s a dance floor filler with the smooth silken charm of Pharrell. You’ll want to snap your fingers, wear a hat, and smile radiantly like Pharrell as you boogie down to this slick jam. Along with Special comes Full Crate’s announcement of a coming EP named Pleasure Pools.

Mysterious production talent abounds these days. The latest to blast my ears with some sick beats is a 23 year old producing under the name ANGELZ. He initially signed to Def Jam Records at the young age of 15 to ghost produce for the likes of 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, Pharrell, and many others, but it looks like he’s now bent on making an un-ghostly, bold appearance with his sinister, dark remix of Mac Miller and Pharrell’s Onaroll. The blend of UK garage, deep house, and hip hop is a hard hitting, epic blend, both magnificent and dirty. ANGELZ joins ZHU and a growing number of producers who are throwing down this thrilling hybrid sound.

And the Pharrell remixes keep on rolling in! Of course, what else would you expect after one of the hottest musicians and producers in the world drops a huge album? Pharrell’s Daft Punk featuring Gust Of Wind received this dope remix treatment from electronic production trio Autograf! The remix is incredibly entrancing with its electro house and nu-disco essence. I’d love to coast down a palm lined Southern California highway, with the top down, blasting this summer jam. Wouldn’t that be epic? The track is the first off Autograf’s Future Summer remix series, Issue 1. There’s more to come, kids!

Happy Friday, everyone! I need to run out the door earlier than usual today, but I have some great tunes for you, and I mean GREAT, like this brand new Disclosure remix. The UK duo re-worked Pharrell’s Jay-Z featuring Frontin’, and it’s as house sumptuous as we’d all expect from the red hot electronic act. Can’t go wrong with Disclosure! Ever! Friday dance party starts NOW!
