The sheer amount of Lorde remixes was astounding after the release of Melodrama, and there seems to be no sign of a slow down, either. It makes sense, considering how much more energetic and dance ready the songs are off of Lorde’s sophomore album. Australian duo ODD MOB recently offered up a sumptuous remix of Lorde’s Perfect Places, too. While so many of the Lorde edits we’ve heard lately subscribe to the ever pervasive trap and bass trend of late, ODD MOB has chosen spice up Lorde with a face melting house remix. A steely future edge and plenteous tech house jabs give their exhilarating edit an edgy fresh veneer that helps to drives us towards blissful delirium. We truly find ourselves in a perfect place…

I just can’t get enough of these official remixes of Lorde’s Perfect Places that have been springing up lately! The White Panda gave us a bright thrumming, electro swelling indie dance and melodic house edit a week ago. Whethan’s remix of the track was nothing short of brilliant, a frothy brisk future trap take on the hit Melodrama track. And now, Australian duo Peking Duk takes my breath away with their ravishing remix, a sanguine lifting, saccharine rich tropical trap approach on the tune. The high flying edit is Peking Duk’s first remix in four years!

Yes, I know this is the second remix of Lorde’s Perfect Places that I’ve shared tonight, but there’s simply no way to ignore the perfection of Whethan’s take on the hit single, too. The Chicago wunderkind and electronic prodigy, arguably the hottest commodity right now in the dance music scene, gives us a brilliant revamp of the tune brimming with his signature frothy, airy, and brisk future trap. Playful pops, whimsical bubbles, and a whole lot of weightless bounce permeate the seesawing extravaganza. If you’ve never caught Ethan Snoreck live, make sure you do when he heads out on his expansive fall tour. Get ready to be mind blown. Find out more about the tour, here.

Chicago mashup and remix experts The White Panda hones in on Lorde’s Perfect Places, one of so many great songs from recent album Melodrama, for their latest euphoric remix. Perfect Places gets a bright thrumming, electro swelling indie dance meets melodic house edit that takes us to a place more than perfect. Lorde has already gone a more luminous route with her latest album compared to her debut album. The White Panda emphasizes and boosts Perfect Places’ luminosity with their soaring, towering remix.

There’s no way I was going to pass up on sharing the gorgeously shot new music video Lorde dropped today for her song Perfect Places, the latest single from her acclaimed and chart topping new album Melodrama. It’s a scenic film, shot by director Grant Singer, and it features striking imagery and stylish attire. It epitomizes the song’s title. Perfect Places is a glorious beauty of a synth inflected pop song. Its twitchy electronica recalls the dark electropop Lorde offered up on Pure Heroine, but bathed in a freshly glowing radiance that illuminates much of Melodrama. Lorde is currently hitting up the biggest festivals around the world as she prepares to head out on her Melodrama World Tour. Find out more about the tour, here. Melodrama is available, here.

We’re but two weeks away from the release of Lorde’s sophomore album Melodrama, from which lead single Green Light has already made one of the biggest impacts of the year. No doubt Melodrama is going to be a chart slayer and one of the top albums of our summer. The New Zealand songbird has long shed her dark pop princess garb with the high spirited pop we’ve heard so far this year. We’re met with more sweeping grandeur and uptempo radiance as she gives us new album track Perfect Places, the official second single from Melodrama. The track is another signature collaboration between Lorde and Jack Antonoff, who seems to be working with just about everyone in the circuit these days. Pre-order Melodrama before its release on June 16th, here.
