New Los Angeles by way of Boston electronic project Paperwings blew us away last month with the producers’ first release, a stratospheric soaring melodic bass remix of Mickey Valen’s Wildcard. We marked the newcomers as one to watch right then and there. The pair now return with their second tune, and it’s a stunner of a remix, too. They’ve taken RL Grime and Miguel’s Stay For It and given it an exhilarating high voltage makeover, melding future trap and melodic bass in the process. Paperwings’ remix, brimming with regal build ups and gritty drops, is a proper thrill ride. Download the track for free, here.

Any reason to re-visit a track from prolific New York producer Mickey Valen is a good one, much less an exuberantly lifting, grandly sweeping edit like Paperwings’ rendition of Wildcard. The soaring future trap single, which features Feli Ferraro, undergoes a stratospheric melodic bass makeover in the hands of this new Los Angeles based Boston project. It’s hard to believe Paperwings’ flawless remix of Wildcard is their very first release. The lambent lurching, cinematic heaving remix is spectacularly breathtaking.
