I’ve always found cityscapes to be beautiful at night, with all the lights twinkling in the distance. I stare up into lit windows floating high above concrete ground, wondering about the stories playing out within closed walls. Viennese production duo Palastic encapsulates some of that wonder and a whole lot of sparkling nostalgia on City Lights, a beautifully tinkling, celestial twinkling single featuring Nevve and her beautifully supple, oft encountered voice on guest vocals. Palastic expertly combines dreamy guitar strums and brassy buoyant jabs with delicate and ethereal electronica on the lovely song, which can be purchased/streamed, here.

It’s been far too long since we’ve heard an original track from Vienna’s Palastic, but the duo make a grand re-entrance on new song Side Note, featuring smoky elegant vocals by Spanish songbird LissA. Side Note, despite its name, is a main course sort of tune, its full plate of future bass resplendence and emotive future pop thoroughly moving. Grand trumpeting add to the song’s sheer haunting power, while its downtempo guitar strums keep our feet planted in an earthy intimacy much flowing with authenticity and sincerity. The gorgeous single is available now from iTunes.

Time to lift out of the prior features’ solemn, heavy atmosphere with some lighter, more luminous fare, courtesy of an electronic duo from Vienna named Palastic. Their melodic and saccharine house song Far Away, featuring soulful crooning by Josh Roa, is a beautifully romantic and warmly infectious anthem. While chill and mellow, it’s also wonderfully uplifting and optimistic. Palastic followed up the song with a new track named Don’t Hesitate just yesterday. The new one features Y Z R, and it’s a more energized and urgent dance track that evokes fantastic fellow German act Klangkarussell.
