Jordan Benjamin, the man behind fascinating project grandson, first landed on our radar several months ago when he released his single BLOOD//WATER to widespread acclaim. We were immediately blown away by his fresh fusion of rock, electronica, hip hop, and trap, so intensely and passionately delivered by his scratchy, raspy vocals and the hard hitting track’s vociferous energy. To our delight, many others noticed the genius behind the track, too, and grandson’s buzz has since flourished, growing exponentially by the day. Re-visit our BLOOD//WATER feature, here. grandson’s new song, OVERDOSE, arrives today. We’ve been waiting on pins and needles for a new song from grandson, and we’re absolutely thrilled with the quality of this emotive prowling, grainy drawling track, a dark and foreboding, bitter and feral torrent of grandson’s electro heaving, trap needling rock and hip hop. We can’t wait for a chance to experience grandson’s music live. I’d imagine it to be a visceral gripping and intensively consuming excursion. Keep up with this must watch artist via his website, here.

Exit Friendzone and Two Friends collaborated on a riveting original named Overdose last fall, one which we still can’t get out of our heads today (and gladly so, too). Overdose, which features soulful vocals by Natalola, has since received some magnificent remix treatments, out altogether as an official remix package. Chicago by way of New Orleans producer CRWNS presents us with one of my favorite jams out of the four track release, a tremolo future bass and trap edit bursting with brisk vivacious energy. The beauty of the original is left unscathed while CRWNS dresses it in resplendent new threads on his spirited darting, swift bounding edit. You can stream the rest of the Overdose remixes, which includes additional re-works by Sokko, Jameston Thieves, and Jinco, in full on Soundcloud.

Honestly, I’m still obsessing over ARMORS’ last single, Genesis, a song which IHM proudly premiered earlier this year and and for which the Orange County band surprise released a fabulous acoustic version a couple weeks ago, too. But it’s obvious I need to make space in my heart for their new song, Overdose, and straight away, too. Overdose is produced by Jason Suwito of Sir Sly, and it certainly boasts some of that IHM favorite’s bold resonating, sooty brooding flavor. Frontman Olen Kittelsen leads us into this powerful tour de force with his resolute vocals, which fly higher than ever with flawless agility. Overdose’s synth laden alt rock is magnificently hooking. This is an imposing anthem that adds to the unbridled momentum of ARMORS’ rising buzz.

It’s an epic vibing house aria that Toronto’s Exit Friendzone and Two Friends presents us with on their new original collaboration, Overdose, which features spectacularly soulful, passionately riveting vocals by Natalola. Overdose is as much as an adrenaline rush as it is a heart rending dance track, a mightily infectious ode to how powerful and dangerous it could be to fall for someone obsessively. It’s almost ironic that a song about the pitfalls of burning infatuation comes by way of two talented production acts named Exit Friendzone and Two Friends. Snag this high soaring, vigorous gripping anthem from various outlets, here.

Though Royal Tongues’ latest song is named Overdose, there’s no possible way to ever overdose on the Los Angeles indie pop duo’s overflowing enthusiasm and lively spirit. Overdose leaves me eager for even more of the band’s radiant indie rock and jouncing electro pop. Royal Tongues is royally hooking on the colossal anthem, a larger than life burst of ecstatic energy much like The Wombats gone Passion Pit. Overdose is out now on iTunes.

Located just a short distance from my San Francisco Bay is a Sacramento band named The Good Fortune, who have me swooning aplenty to the muggy, hazy alt pop on their song Overdose. The Good Fortune’s sleek vocals carry some LANY slink alongside the song’s Sir Sly smokiness and Magic Man synth resplendence. It’s a deeply infectious gem for which the band recently recorded a live video for NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert. Stream the performance below. Overdose comes from The Good Fortune’s Social Crowns EP, available on iTunes.

19 year old British artist Mullally describes himself as someone with a passion for reggae, soul, and pop. On sensational song Overdose, he takes us to spectacularly rich and luxuriant highs with his stunning voice and a grandiose form of soulful, orchestral pop. There’s no overdosing on this crisp and bright song, I can’t get enough of Overdose. It stands at the crossroads between Sam Smith and Jack Garratt. It goes without saying that Mullally is an exciting new act to watch.

After digging Maudlin Strangers’ music for a year now, I’m happy to say that the Southern California band will be releasing their debut EP shortly. Overdose will be out January 20th on Vagrant Records, and they’ve shared a muggy, steamy track off the EP, AIM. It’s extra bluesy, crunchy, and synthrock heavy compared to some of their past numbers, in a near Arctic Monkeys like way. Revisit the title track off the coming EP, Overdose, below, with its pop leaning melody and hazy slickness.

I first introduced you to Southern California’s Maudlin Strangers via this song, Overdose, seven months back. The swooning, dark synthpop number was finely crafted by Jake Hays, the man behind Maudlin Strangers. The sultry song is now the title track off Maudlin Strangers’ upcoming EP, and a video has been released. Overdose is such a gritty, sexy track. It even has moments where I find myself wondering: if Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys decided to go the synthpop route, is this what he might sound like?
