We’re totally psyched that we’re get to catch HIGHSOCIETY at LIVE 105′s BFD this Saturday at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View. The festival is a tradition of sorts for me, and I can only imagine how lit it’s going to be when the San Francisco producer unleashes his high voltage music on the crowd. He stokes the flames of our excitement with a fresh remix of HONORS’ cinematic sprawling debut single, Over. The Toronto project’s synth smoldering alt/electro R&B gets a wicked future trap and laser etched dubstep makeover in HIGHSOCIETY’s dexterous hands. The whirlwind edit is explodes with oscillating synths and precipitous drops. Snag the grand and exultant thriller for free, here.

I’ll gladly “say yes” to long awaited new HONORS any day, much less such a compelling second alt R&B piece from this Toronto four piece that floored us with their debut Over nearly half a year ago. Moody rumbling and slick whirring Say Yes is a testament to the talent brimming from this collection of writers, producers, and multi-instrumentalists who are heavily influenced by the likes of The Weeknd, Party Next Door, and Roy Woods. HONORS, who recently signed to PRMD Music, will be appearing at Bonanza and Bumbershoot later this year after their June shows in NY and LA. Say Yes can also be streamed via Spotify, here. Watch the recently released music video for debut single Over below.

Though Over begins with some AWOLNATION like flare, the dark simmering electro and alt R&B found on Toronto outfit Honors’ debut release soon erupts with slow burning vitality of its own despite a pensive demeanor. Over is larger than life, a cinematic sprawling inferno that builds on influences from The Weeknd, Party Next Door, and Roy Woods. The band reports that Over was the first song they wrote as Honors, and it’s the creative center for their project. A fresh and creative infusion of trap and passionately smoldering guitar riffs adorn this genre defying single, which is a free download, here.

Austin’s Seth Rosson, who simply goes by ROSSON on the producer and musician’s new music, draws us in with haunting minimalist production and brooding but soothing vocals on Over. The finely nuanced soundscape of the song and his tender delivery evoke a combination of James Blake’s captivating music and Deptford Goth’s whisper soft indietronica. The skeletal beauty of Over exposes all and bares all, a delicate and fragile glimpse into the stark and naked. Over is the first song from ROSSON’s upcoming self titled EP.

Finish duo Phantom dropped some eerily captivating visuals on a music video for their electronic pop song Over, a single that brims with spectacular hooks and lures with bewitching strings. Over’s tribal drums and Phantom’s enchanting vocals make this an inescapably ensnaring Kate Boy meets Lorde sort of spellbinding affair. Watch Phantom’s video for Over below, purchase the single on iTunes, and then wait for Phantom’s 2016 debut album alongside me.

Chicago’s GOLDHOUSE is back with a thriller of an indie dance anthem. Over is a soaring chimera of nu-disco, electropop, and electro house, and it’s as smooth as can be. Over is a bonafide sing along, raise your arms, and just rock out banger. It’s possibly the most catchy tune I’ve encountered this week so far. Over is available now on iTunes and Spotify.

I HEART MOOSIQ PREMIERE:

Moodblanc really does know how to set the mood. The savvy duo, based in Gothenburg, Sweden, bring maximum heat and passion on sultry new single Over. The song reaches near boiling point with its steamy, sensual, yet so wonderfully languid and leisurely nu-disco groove. Buttery vocals that remind me of Empire Of The Sun caress the intoxicating, lavish indie dance song. On the surface, Over seems to be a carefree, twirling treat, but there’s a bittersweet, yearning murmur hidden beneath its silky sheen. To add more fuel to the fire, Virginia based musician Micah Davis, aka Masego Music, turns in some swooning, splendorous saxophone. A light retro soul and disco breeze on the tune transports me to the 60’s for a short sweet moment, but the swirling synths and lusciousness of the song fast forward me into the neon 80’s.

Over is Moodblanc’s forthcoming single and Chapter 9 in their “ongoing love story”. They enhance their songs with a flowing narrative about a couple who discover true love. The duo will be releasing all chapters of this saga on vinyl this spring, along with the final track, Chapter 10. Head over to Moodblanc’s website, www.moodblanc.com, to learn more about this epic story of romance and to listen to the previous chapters.

Ethereal is one of those more mysterious tunes dropped into my inbox, with no information to go along with it, but I was able to figure out that this mysterious Breathing Room is a mashup extraordinaire based out in Texas. On Ethereal, he skillfully fits together Electric Mantis’ “Flip and Flop, Drips and Drops”, SoySauce’s “Sushi Park”, Drake’s “Over”, Dorrough’s “After Party”, Travi$ Scott’s “Upper Echelon (feat. T.I. & 2 Chainz)”, and even Beyonce’s “Party (feat. Kanye and André 3000)” to form one big mosaic of riveting sound, consisting of grimy hip hop and ethereal EDM. Kind of crazy, eh?

It’s been awhile since I first stumbled upon New York duo Azar Swan and their glamorous, dark, industrial dance sound. Not surprisingly, they consider Kate Bush an influence, and of course, I’m drawn to that sound. They’ve released a haunting video for their ghoulish synth pop track Over. I find the breathy, raspy vocals completely captivating and beautiful.
