I can’t be the only one who stops and contemplates if they’re pregnant after hearing the seductive Sabrina Claudio newest soul melting track ‘All For You’. We featured her a while back when she released her song ‘Belong To You’, and after seeing she’s on the lineup for Outside Lands we were attracted back to her wavelength. And OH MY GOD, the wave is wet. A tsunami of lush, ripening desire just waiting to crest over the bed and onto the floor of hot non-verbal synced-ness. Wow, Sabrina. Going to be a lot of babies come January.

Bay Area’s own RoAN Gibson offers a gracefully raw and vulnerable song ‘Lovlily’. I couldn’t figure out who his voice reminded me of – I thought maybe Mumford and Sons – but he’s recently been listening to Jack Garrett, Chet Baker, Charlie Parker, and Lewis Del Mar. He has a few shows coming up in May but I can already imagine him playing in the woods of Outside Lands.

OFFICIAL VID: Lana Del Rey – Young & Beautiful (Kaskade Mix)

Boy, I’m already pooped after listening to countless albums today (and getting stuck briefly revisiting Fleetwood Mac hits). But there’s so much new music to check out and share! Here’s one I had to jump on right away once I saw there was a music video for it. Kaskade’s house remix of Young & Beautiful is loads of fun to dance to, plus the original track off the soundtrack for The Great Gatsby is one of Lana Del Rey’s most gorgeous, wistful, romantic tunes. The music video itself is replete with footage from Outside Lands Music Festival 2013. This one hits close to home for me, since my friend and I happened to be running from the Land’s End stage to the Twin Peak Stage that very evening to try and catch a bit of Kaskade’s headlining set before the night was over. At the very moment that we arrived, Kaskade threw this remix on. I’m serious. THAT exact moment. It’s pretty cool that an Outside Lands music video was dropped for this very track today. Thanks, Kaskade!

Copy of A

NIN was one of the jaw dropping good headlining acts I was privileged to catch over the weekend at Outside Lands Music Festival. Trent Reznor was arresting on stage, as expected. Suffice to say, it was a helluva set. Listen to brand new Nine Inch Nails track Copy of A off of coming album Hesitation Marks. There were other live clips of this floating around previously, but we can now hear the studio version in all its glory. And it’s SO goooooood. So dark. So industrial. So NIN.

This is for all the peepz in the bay (and outside the bay) who go to Outside Lands every year in August. Here’s the sweet, solid lineup for 2013, just announced this morning (and more to be added later, I’m sure). As always, I’ll be there all three days, running around, catching as much excellent music as I can.

Regina on The Tonight Show

August 18, 2012

I was only able to catch part of Regina Spektor’s set at Outside Lands last weekend from fairly far away, but she was incredible and mesmerizing. There’s no doubt that I must, must, MUST catch her headlining the next time she stops by San Francisco. Last night, she graced the stage of The Tonight Show and put in a heart moving, gorgeous performance of How.

OFFICIAL VID: Michael Kiwanuka – Bones

August 17, 2012

FOUND it! The video for Michael Kiwanuka’s Bones has been one of a few items I’ve been searching for on a daily basis multiple times a day ALL week, so that I could come up with a version that’s not exclusive and could be shared. Here it is, finally, on youtube! The video is very lo-fi vintage, which really fits Kiwanuka’s traditional old school soul sound. I made sure to rush over to the solar powered Panhandle Stage at Outside Lands over the weekend to catch Michael Kiwanuka’s set, knowing that it’d be magnificent. There’s gotta be a reason why he’s been buzzing so hard out of the UK, right? There’s gotta be a reason why some people consider him the new Otis Redding or compare him to even more legendary soul musicians? Well, even though his music isn’t the type that I oft listen to at home, my gosh, Michael Kiwanuka live was incredible. The man’s got so much talent and such a perfect voice for the romantic crooning. So when I saw this video announced the next day, I was ready to devote a new post to Mr. Kiwanuka on I Heart Moosiq. Here you go…
