OTR’s past career as an aerospace engineer seems to transmit right into his current ascent as a compelling producer and musician. He first started to float us into the cosmos with his music via remixes, but he’s since demonstrated his adept skills as a songcrafter on an original named Bliss. And now he’s followed it up with a downtempo electronic ballad named Close, featuring Kai Straw, a cindery vocalist from right here in San Francisco. OTR’s dusky ethereal beats displays his influences, which include producers like Odesza, Petit Biscuit, and Porter Robinson, as well as indie artists like Daughter and Bon Iver. Close is gritty yet atmospheric, a bittersweet haunting and tender stirring electronic composition to soundtrack your late night introspection. Find it on Apple Music, here.

Our only experience with OTR in the past was his remix of Blondage’s Stoned, and it’s obvious we’ve erred in letting the 25-year old aerospace engineer-turned-producer’s music slip us by. Just listen to his new single, an electronica and pop hybrid fittingly named Bliss and featuring honeyed vocals by Ashley Leone. It’s a beautifully polished, mellifluously stirring aria replete with both tender moments and electrifying peaks. Bliss will be on OTR’s EP Unfold, arriving this summer. Watch a trailer for the EP below, and grab the producer/musician’s new tune off Spotify/Apple, here.

Back in April, Danish duo Blondage served up a whimsically whirring, luminous sparkling, and choppy warbling indie pop anthem named Stoned. You can probably guess around which day in April it arrived. The Elohim meets Charli XCX boom bapping bop has since received a beautiful remix, courtesy of Atlanta beatmaker OTR. Stoned is interlaid with a new dosage of experimental synths and a moodier construction on the atmospheric indie electronica meets future beats edit. It takes on a more celestial timber and a dreamier dynamic on the ace treatment, which is available from iTunes, here.
