Though On And On was our very first encounter with Curtis Harding and his music despite his having released a full length in 2014, it was immediately apparent that this is an artist to take note of and keep a close watch on. He’s swooped out of Atlanta with a dashing brand of vintage soul and old school R&B that evokes the likes of Leon Bridges and Michael Kiwanuka, but with the funky Motown strut of some of Danger Mouse’s work. On And On is out now via ANTI- Records. Find out more from his website, here.

It looks like not a huge quantity of people have picked up on Australian duo JONES jnr. yet, which utterly baffled me after I listened to their tunes.  JONES jnr. is the project of vocalist Ev Jones and Thumdamentals founding member/producer Morgan Jones. They bring an old school soul sound mixed with a swaggering disco dance beat that easily attracts the side of me that loves acts like Chromeo and Jungle, with the added confident flair of Cherub, Jamie Lidell, and Pharrell. JONES jnr. will be releasing their debut EP, Step On Sleep, on May 29th, and the first single off the record is a grooving, resplendent song named Never Be Lonely. The chic, swanky tune comes with an amusing tongue in cheek music video poking fun at speed dating. JONES Jnr announced an east coast tour of Australia this July.
