On July 6th, Grammy-nominated British trip hop and electronic legends Goldfrapp will be releasing a deluxe edition of Silver Eye, their latest album from last year. On it are several new bonus tracks, including a rendition of album closer Ocean featuring none other than Depeche Mode frontman Dave Gahan. Depeche Mode and Goldfrapp is a more than epic union, and this glorious new version of Ocean more than reflects that. You can find the track on Apple Music, here. SONIA’s a name I highly suggest you remember, but even if you’re bad with names, I’m sure you’re going to hear this one a whole lot as the year continues to progress. The Parisian singer is in the midst of performing at Coachella with Petit Biscuit, having featured on the esteemed producer’s song Creation Comes Alive. She’s also just released a massive new single named OCEAN, whose guitar florid, drum thundering pop explodes with relentless confidence. SONIA takes us on a journey of tenacious and gutsy grandeur with her glorious anthem. I’m sure it won’t be long before she’ll be performing at Coachella with her own set. I can already envision how magnificent OCEAN will be live. You can also stream OCEAN via Spotify, here.

Celebrated future bass pioneer and influential chill trap trailblazer Harley Streten, better known as Australian production luminary Flume, has teamed up with Greenpeace to reveal some unreleased music. He provides a brilliant instrumental soundtrack to Greenpeace Australia Pacific’s stunning underwater visuals, giving us a glimpse at the horrible effects of climate change on the Great Barrier Reef. Flume’s percussive resplendence and pivoting synths embellishes this signaturely compelling piece, whilst Greenpeace’s video is both wondrously beautiful and devastatingly sad. You can sign a petition, here, in support of protecting the reef.

I’ve always loved the ocean. In fact, I even dream of the ocean very often. Perhaps that’s one of the reasons why I’m drawn to this deep blue sea of beauty. Ocean comes from Berlin based producer BLVTH and it features fellow German singer songwriter NOVAA on magnetic guest vocals. The grand oblivion found in this majestic future bass and chill trap aria ebbs and tides with the magnificence of Flume or What So Not, but with fluid smooth swells and clean & crisp grace. The single, out now on Manifesto, can be downloaded for free, here.

I’m a sucker for melodic beats and grainy soulfulness, a concoction which Boy Kiss Girl delivers in full force on infectious chill house anthem, Ocean. The mysterious act first surfaced on my radar a couple months ago with a melodic house interpretation of Blu Cantrall and Sean Paul’s Breathe. On Ocean, they remind me of Broken Back and Milky Chance with their earthy, folksy deep house. It’s an endearing and summery song, out on Armada.

It’s been but a few days since Devon Baldwin regaled us with Backwards, produced by Christoph Andersson, but here we are again, melting away to yet another astronomical collaboration between those two artists from a forthcoming EP. Ocean is dramatically sweeping and fluidly soaring. It’s rife with a daring beauty both aching and divine. Christoph Andersson’s expansive, cinematic production and Devon Baldwin’s breathtaking vocals are inescapably engulfing, like the very ocean alluded to in the bittersweet, weighty electronic pop ballad. White Sea evoking majesty intermingles with BANKS redolent bewitching smokiness, resulting in a dark pop song steeped in tragically noble magnificence. Ocean will be on the San Francisco singer songwriter’s new EP, Lungs, out November 10th and available to pre-order now on iTunes.

Lauren Aquilina just announced a new headline UK tour in October and a new EP, too, named Ocean. The Londoner also unleashed a music video for that EP’s title track, and its such an exquisite pop ballad that blooms from delicate beginnings to grand M83 like magnificence. There’s no doubt the striking song will sweep you off your feet and whisk you away to the top of a towering mountain that boasts the most spectacular view of your own trembling heart. The 20 year old singer songwriter will be releasing her Ocean EP on October 9th via Island Records. Pre-order now on iTunes.

I’m very fond of Oregon’s Flor. Not only do they keep dropping great tunes, they’ve also contributed to LostBoyCrow’s music, another emerging artist I much adore. The indie pop act released a new one today named Ocean, a beautiful, dreamy, and swirly synthpop treat. Slick, soothing vocals dance weightlessly and pensively around Ocean’s ethereal, feathery, and intoxicating electronic elements, as if gliding upon rolling, gleaming waves. Let’s revisit their incredibly infectious and radiant debut single Heart again below.

Earlier today, I featured a Swedish folk artist by the name of Andreas Moe, and some of his gorgeous, melting music. Now, we go full circle with a remix of another Andreas Moe tune, Ocean, by German producer L C A W. We all know by now how beautiful folk songs lend themselves very well to tropical house remixes, but L C A W proves himself an adept and skilled producer beautiful, summery rendition of the tune that balances vocals and production perfectly. Just wait till you get to the 2:23 mark… your heart’s going to skip a beat. The remix officially releases November 14 on Sony Columbia.
