We all move as one as LOYAL makes their long awaited return after impressing tastemakers all around with their first songs nearly a year ago. The UK quartet presents us with sultry smoldering electronica on Moving As One. This is a tense gripping song as slinky coiling as it is percussive clattering. Moving As One is fiery and moody, raw yet sleek. Its brassy opulence evokes Jungle but endowed with the soulful dance vibrancy of Fatboy Slim and some of Caribou’s three dimensional space. The explosive single will be out this Friday, January 13th, via IAMSOUND.

Canadian producer UNBLOOM’s music tends to contradict his chosen pseudonym. We know from past experience that UNBLOOM’s sleek intoxicating electronica more than blooms, it explodes. New song They carries us away on that bursting tidal wave, surrounding us with pounding drums, lush synthesizers, and hearty bass in a way akin to fellow producers like Mura Masa and POMO. Joining UNBLOOM on lyric writing and lending her elegantly sensuous vocals is up and coming singer Layla Mora. Nu-funk, future bass, and soulful R&B wed seamlessly on this crisp oscillating, luxuriantly springing beauty.

Canadian producer UNBLOOM ignites the air around us with Don’t You Know It, a chic and resplendent electronic gem with the hip swaying seduction of Toro Y Moi’s chillwave funk and the richly glazed soundscapes of Roosevelt, POMO, and Mura Masa. He tops it all off with sensational falsettos that reach as high as the stars. Don’t You Know It is a shiver inducing, sexy smoldering dance track and the UNBLOOM’s first new song since his first EP, Extended Play 1. Perhaps this means an Extended Play 2 is in the works. I sure hope so.

The Jackson 5′s ABC is, without doubt, a timeless classic, and if anyone’s going to edit and transform it, they’d better do it well. Who else would turn in a sensational remix effort on the song than NYC’s N2N and Sacramento talent Andie Roy? The two production acts join forces yet again to give ABC a contemporary makeover that takes The Jackson 5 on a tropical island adventure full of buoyant mirth and infectious funk. They’ve stayed very true to the original’s carefree spirit, keeping the vocals intact and central to the remix. The vocals are indeed the best part of the original, and that’s a genius call. It’s always impressive when a remix of a classic song reminds me how much I love the original, even as I’m rapturously dancing my way around the room to the fantastic remix. In the last few weeks, New York based producer ALMOND has already given us some massive jams, via some remix collaborations with SAMME and FYKA. Apparently, this producer thrives on joining forces with other producers to throw down hot tracks, because his latest offering is a remix of Clean Bandit & Jess Glynne’s Real Love, and it’s a collaborative effort with Boston newcomer Blacklyte. As someone who happens to really love Clean Bandit and Jess Glynne’s work together, including sizzling hot, fiery Real Love, I can’t help but appreciate the extra dose of bumping energy that the two producers have injected into the song. They give it a funky nu-disco summer makeover that renders it a must at your next pool or beach party.
