I must credit mysterious production duo NINE LIVES for putting Keiynan’s Higher on my radar. IHM shared one of the rising Australian’s songs earlier this year, yet Higher managed to escape our roving ears up till now with the encounter of this breathtaking remix of the track. Keiynan’s glassy falsettos are simply stunning on this dark brooding future beats remix, whose atmospheric soundscape isn’t too over the top and avoids detracting from the Keiynan’s sultry R&B soul magnificence. NINE LIVES’ beautifully edited official rendition takes on some The Weeknd smoldering effervescence but more light and airy, misty instead of sweaty. Download the remix from Toneden.

Opia is responsible for one of the most stunning debut songs of the year so far, in the form of future R&B and minimalist electro soul simmerer, Falling. I’ve been waiting at the edge of my seat for the next massive tune from the American duo since, and while my patience has been fruitless thus far, some phenomenal remixes of Falling are slowly emerging from the shadows. Mysterious duo NINE LIVES, who seem to have named themselves after cat folklore, offer up an exhilarating edit of Falling, one that ripples, undulates, and flutters with supreme intensity. The glitchy future bass remix is thoroughly riveting, a stately and imposing, dark and stormy approach on the brilliant original. Download NINE LIVES’ remix for free, here.

Australian producer Elk Road released his debut original late last year, a sweeping electronic original named Not To Worry which featured rapturous vocals by Governors. Nine Lives, the mysterious duo who previously enthralled droves of people with their remixes of Louis The Child’s It’s Strange and Michl’s Kill Our Way To Heaven, offer up their interpretation of Not To Worry. Nine Lives takes us on a cosmic journey, their atmospheric trap edit full of noble grandeur, its majestic valleys and peaks an expanse of stately bass and strapping synths. The official remix is a free download, here.
