It’s no secret that it’s a divine event when Cleveland’s Teflon Sega reunites with NY producer WAJU on a fresh new tune. The pair have made for a divine union on many a past release, and they melt us to now end with their slick iridescent, passionately churning future R&B once again on NEØN. This time around, WAJU has partnered up with enigmatic producer Cozmoe on co-production duties, too. Dramatic future bass swells and Teflon Sega’s scintillating falsettos take us on a stormy emotional ride, tensely charged yet wondrously beautiful.

NEØN is out via Majestic Casual Records. It’s a free download, here.

Who doesn’t love gummy bears, particularly the delicious little cubs made by Haribo (but not the sugarless ones, thank you, I’ve read those wacky Amazon reviews about how bad they are for the digestive system)? Turns out, gummy bears aren’t just delightful for the taste buds, but there’s a mysterious new production project named GUMMYB3ARS who’s just as good when devoured through the ears. Melbourne sibling duo Two Can’s plumed soaring single Outta Here gets an iridescent future bass meets neon retrowave makeover courtesy of GUMMYB3ARS. I’m not sure I’ve heard anything quite like this remix all year long… The edit transitions from melodic bass to indie dance back to melodic bass. It’s an effulgent blast of nostalgia and joy.

I’m always down for neon synthwave, but I happen to be on an extra intense synthwave kick right now after hitting up an event called Turbo Drive at DNA Lounge last Friday. FM-84 and The Midnight performed at the glorious sold out show, and though I had a more than abundant dose of euphoria inducing, 80′s inspired retrowave and synthpop that night, I just had to get more of it once I returned home. That was when I discovered Wice and his magnificent synthcore music, on which he flawlessly melds synthwave with electro. Star Fighter is the Danish producer’s latest single. It’s like a propulsive driving cross between Kavinsky and S U R V I V E. The epic pulsing intergalactic space adventure comes with just the right animated visual accompaniment. Revel in Star Fighter’s music video, below. The song is included on a compilation album from NewRetroWave named Magnatron 2.0, which you can find on Bandcamp, here, or iTunes, here.

I know this one’s been making the rounds for a large part of the month already, garnering support all across the board, but we’re still super excited to drop on some Amelia Airhorn, in case you haven’t caught wind of this buzzing new project from New York just yet. So, who exactly is Amelia Airhorn? A new production auteur? A surprise starlet here to shake things up? Not quite. Amelia Airhorn is in fact a mega collaboration between The Knocks and Skylar Spence, and they’ve already released a buzz worthy mixtape, or album, named ‘The Knocks & Skylar Spence Present… Amelia Airhorn’. The trio of talented musicians take us right to the heart of New York on a hot steamy night with this disco spectacular, which you can stream in full, here. NY is Red Hot is one of the highlights of the album, a 70′s roller rink ready, neon twirling, churning bop of a classic banger. You can download Amelia Airhorn’s album in full, here, and trust me, you’re going to want to take this one for many a spin this summer.

A midnight cruise down the highway is in order as we turn the volume knob way up high to Neon, a ravishing jam from a duo named Magdalena Bay. The pair likes to call their music “future 90′s throwback space pop”, which hits about all the right notes when it comes to Neon’s sexy grooving, murky swirling, disco dripping electronic pop. Steamy romance hangs heavy in the air. Hips sway. Palms sweat. Desire takes over. Neon can be purchased now from iTunes.

We may be starting a fresh new year of music, but there are some gems from 2016 that I’ve fallen behind on in the midst of my rather stressful and busy December that are more than worthy of taking into 2017 despite the delay. One such treat is Rise And Fall, the latest from sci-fi cinematic landscape loving duo Night Drive. The Texan project inspires me to fly down neon lit highways with their synthpop meets darkwave pulse of nostalgia, a must for all the fans of New Order and The Drums that are lurking about IHM with me. Rise And Fall is Night Drive’s first single from an upcoming self titled album, due out early this year. You can purchase this slick cruising single, here

I have no idea if British newcomer Hight chose his moniker as a play on the word “height”, but he sure takes us to epic heights with his debut. Sun Come Up is a song as prismatic as the colorful artwork for the track. It’s also a unique treat that plays tricks on genre classifications. Though it bounces vivaciously with plenty of slick nu-disco and deep house aplomb, Hight also envelops us with dreamy luscious neon vibes accented by chillwave and electro house elements. It’s been awhile since I’ve watched the sun come up, but I suddenly have an urge in me to stay up all night and dance to Hight as the first brilliant rays of sunshine peak over the horizon. There’s something so hopeful and romantic about that moment, thoroughly encapsulated in Hight’s first single. Sun Come Up will be out this Friday, September 16th, on Dizzy New Hights.

We’re plunged into a magical world of neon electro fantasy by California’s Ardency on Crystals, which features Canadian vocalist Icelandia. Crystals is a glacially shimmering beauty. Icelandia’s smoothly lilting vocals are much evocative of Miike Snow while the majestic landscape of the song fuse Daft Punk with Kavinsky, but softened up by a dreamy Johnny Jewel blanket of dark disco haze. Crystals is the first song revealed from a four track EP named Mechanism, one which we obviously need look out for when it drops in March.

I seriously feel like I’m watching one of my favorite 80′s romance flicks when I’m floating away to the sweet and dreamy beauty of Satchmode’s latest. The Los Angeles duo’s new single, Further Away, is drenched in rich retro luxuriance and puffed up like a soft cloud with melting disco. Amour is in the air, and it’s called Satchmode. The weightless, glistening synthpop gem is available now on iTunes.

Paging Belguim’s Dr. Lektroluv – the video for ‘Through The Night’ is absolutely mental. It’s a fevered paced neon dripping dance trip. All patients infected by the rhythm must immediately report to the closest dance floor and spread this contagious tune.
