Naomi Wild may have just made her solo debut eight months ago with Lessons, but the hotly tipped chanteuse is already a Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter. It’s hard to forget her performance on Odesza’s Higher Ground, and she’s more than ready to take over the world as a solo artist now that she’s released her second song, Howlin’. You can recognize some overlapping elements from Higher Ground on the drum hammering electronic pop song. I can near envision Odesza’s drum line performing the song with the artist, whose sonorous vocals pull us deep into a sultry enticing world of animalistic desire. Howlin’ can also be streamed via Spotify, here.

We ascend to cloud nine as two of our all time favorite electronic acts, Seattle’s ODESZA and Australia’s Flight Facilities, come together on a track off ODESZA’s new Higher Ground remix pack. I’ll let that sink in for a moment… this is two juggernaut production forces with completely different artistic styles. That’s right, Flight Facilities has given Higher Ground, one of the most beautiful arias off ODESZA’s beloved album A Moment Apart, a lush, halcyon house edit! Their remix departs from their usual disco imbued dance music, but it’s a deep thrumming, verdant and feathery beauty nonetheless with glowing sunset vibes enhanced by Naomi Wild’s gorgeous voice. ODESZA’s new remix pack also features remixes by Reske, pluko (fka Pluto), and the original version of HIgher Ground. Stream in full on Soundcloud, here. Support via alternate platforms, here.

Los Angeles siren Naomi Wild has quickly become a force in the R&B pop scene, particularly after having lent her vocals to Odesza’s sensational hit single Higher Ground off their behemoth album A Moment Apart. Over the summer, she made a compelling solo debut on a thorny rumbling, fierce bristling number named Lessons, on which she reminded us of Rihanna and Beyoncé with her rhythmic jabbing, edgy confident approach. Today, we revisit Lessons via a wicked remix of the track by fellow Los Angeles artist and producer, Tarro, who’s brings plenty of his usual heavy shuddering, dark brooding future trap and bass on his rendition of the song. It’s an approach that complements the tone of the original and it gives Naomi Wild an even more fiery fierce vibe with its rumbling bass and vigorous chops. Tarro’s remix of Lessons is available from iTunes, here. Re-visit Naomi Wild’s original, here.

If the name Naomi Wild sounds very familiar, it’s probably because of her cameo on Odesza’s latest prismatic and effervescent electronic aria, Higher Ground. She’s also lent her voice to a bevy of other electronic tracks, though she went under a different artist name back then. The Los Angeles artist to watch makes her solo debut as Naomi Wild on a fierce bristling, thorny rumbling R&B pop and hip hop song named Lessons. If you’re fond of the more darkly menacing, rhythmic jabbing tracks put forth by the likes of Rihanna and

Beyoncé, you’re going to love this hypnotic and visceral thriller. Naomi Wild explains of Lessons: “A few of my exes have tried to make me feel like I’m crazy- and that used to really poke at my self esteem until I realized that I am absolutely insane, and I wouldn’t be the creative mess that I am, nor would I ever learn to love myself properly if I didn’t accept that and own it. And if someone is truly down to ride for me they’ll love that about me.” Lessons is out on iTunes, here.

I’m quite sure that there are few electronic projects that are as well respected and widely loved as Seattle’s ODESZA. It’s safe to say much of the electronic music loving world is looking forward to September 8th with an immeasurable amount of excitement, since the duo’s next album A Moment Apart will be arriving that fateful day. They’ve already given us a few sweet tastes off the album, some of them featuring talent we deeply adore, all of them showcasing the pair’s growing versatility. ODESZA adds to their growing list of stellar A Moment Apart tracks with Higher Ground, a prismatic and effervescent aria featuring Los Angeles chanteuse Naomi Wild. Higher Ground is a sweetly shimmering, chromatic sprawling aria whose celestial beauty recalls the pair’s earliest hits off phenomenal 2014 album In Return. The single is available, here.
