Last year, Mura Masa released one of the year’s best electronic albums, and a quintessential track off the release is no doubt Lovesick, which Parisian duo SACRE has re-vamped on a brilliant cover. They inundate the original electronic track with plenty of their sparkly glitz and funky flourishes on an absolutely stunning re-work. It’s a frisky yet sleek, opalescent and French house infused rendering that kind of feels like a seamless encounter with Mura Masa, SBTRKT, C2C, and Justice, all at once. Lest you forgot how good SACRE’s originals are, make sure to re-visit them on Soundcloud, here.

Any weekend with a new NAO song to jam out to is a good one. Neo Jessica Joshua makes a chic dazzling return on fittingly named Nostalgia. She drenches us with a rich and sassy brand of wonky-funk on the fluidly animated, vivacious curling tune, which was written as the centerpiece of a new documentary by Vice entitled “Science Of Sound” where NAO and Vice look at how music has the power to evoke memories and create emotions. As zealous music heads, we are all too familiar with this phenomena. “I like the way nostalgia makes me feel,” coos NAO on her glitzy new R&B funk bop, which feels like AlunaGeorge gone Blood Orange. We love how NAO makes us feel. You can also stream Nostalgia via Spotify, here.

British singer songwriter and record producer NAO has certainly become a prominent sensation. The buzz that hung in the air the last few times NAO played shows in the Bay Area was tangible and heavy, with tickets selling out way in advance. She’s even been nominated for a BRIT award for best female solo artist. NAO recently unveiled a music video for her latest single, In The Morning. It’s the very first time she’s appeared in one of her own videos. In The Morning’s dark sensual, passionate bristling visuals complement the song’s shadowy agitated electronics and NAO’s soulful aching, spindly sharp vocals. In The Morning is taken from NAO’s acclaimed debut album For All We Know, which is backed with a stellar remix package that features Mura Masa, Kaytranada, and more. She’ll be returning to the studio soon to work on a sophomore record.

It’s probably unnecessary to describe how sublime a remix of NAO by SBTRKT can be. Aside from a whole lot of capital letters involved, legendary electronic prodigy SBTRKT presents us with a whole lot of molten vibes and syrupy intoxication on his brain liquefying remix of NAO’s Bad Blood. The edit is SBTRKT’s contribution to NAO’s new remix EP which features edits of songs from her debut album For All We Know by a jaw dropping roster of talent including Kaytranada, Mura Masa, and Stormzy, too.

It was but a few weeks ago that I caught one of the best double headlining shows of the year so far, one that featured both Mura Masa and Nao. Both were superb and Nao easily proved with her spectacular stage presence and her music that she’s well worthy of the growing buzz that surrounds the British artist. Not long afterwards, Nao revealed Girlfriend, a beauty of an electro R&B slow burner from her forthcoming debut album. Careful, this one’s a real seductive slinker, yet so glistening smooth and future sleek. It’s going to send waves of electricity through you and make you really pine for your bae on this marvelous Friday. Nao’s debut album For All We Know will be out on July 29th.

While I previously thought Nao’s sweetly sensual Bad Blood may be my favorite song from the British songstress, I’ve learned today that I made an error in judgement. You see, Nao has revealed a spectacular new tune, and Fool To Love is my new favorite now. Fool To Love is full of fire and sass, a bumping tune produced by Grades that crosses Ben Khan like funky electronics with AlunaGeorge like coquettish allure. Fool To Love is a hot jam, a steamy swooner much imbued with late 90′s era Brandy and Monica R&B pop. The single gets a release on April 8th via Little Tokyo Recordings.

I’m on a roll with the amazing female talent as we segue into the latest from British artist Nao. Bad Blood is a softly sensual and sweetly soulful first single from a self titled debut album due for release next year. Nao offers up a sassy slick amalgamation of R&B, electropop, and soul on the song, reminding me once again of AlunaGeorge vocals blended with Ben Khan production. Nao will be embarking on a UK tour come December.

I’m a sucker for booming, woozy bass lines and sensual, sexy funk, which is probably why I love music by the likes of Ben Khan and Jai Paul. British songstress Nao brings that and more on her powerful new single Inhale Exhale, off a just released EP. Nao’s R&B vocals carry the same sweet sassiness that I love about Aluna’s voice from AlunaGeorge. You might recall that Nao was recently featured on Mura Masa’s spectacular EP, Someday Somewhere, but it’s obvious that the chanteuse is about to make huge solo waves of her own with this single and her new EP, “February 15″.

You might recall me heaping endless mad praise on UK producer Mura Masa’s fresh 7 track EP, Someday Somewhere, just a few days ago. Like I said, I was hard pressed to select a tune off the release to feature, as it’s jam packed with killer, sensational compositions. Today, let’s specifically listen to the second track on the release, a shimmering, saucy future bass gem named Firefly. The song features piquant, chic vocals by London’s Nao

While many of us are on the edge of our seats waiting for new material from Jai Paul, his brother and oft collaborator, A.K. Paul, has given us reason to celebrate. So Good, a collaboration with London newcomer Nao, is A.K. Paul’s first official track (with his name on it). So good, indeed! The production is intoxicatingly Paul-ish with the bluesy guitars and riffs. A.K. Paul’s vocals, along with Nao’s, make such sweet harmony. Once again, it’s proven that musical genius is likely hereditary. The brilliant tune is Nao’s second release, her first being recent sexy, bewitching electropop debut Back Porch, which you can stream below.
