Chic snazzy R&B pop and luxuriant electronica drape our ears in bliss on Sucka, the latest from fast rising New Zealand starlet Nakita. Not only is her rich soulful voice divine on the decadently swelling, sensual curving song, but Sucka’s seductive tapestry of sultry guitar strums, rumbling bass, and lavish production is utterly swooning, too. The track closes out her just released sophomore EP, Vision, a six track must listen you can find via various platforms, here.

New Zealand starlet Nakita continues her ascent in the pop scene with a stellar new tune after enthralling us with songs like Lost and Where Are You last year. The sonorous voiced chanteuse just shared the stage with red hot trio LANY, and now she’s back to entice and enamor with In The Water, the lead single from her forthcoming Vision EP.  In The Water is a compelling balance between summery electropop and moody brooding alt pop. “Don’t get swept away,” Nakita sings on In The Water. But it’s too late. Swept away we are, by this resounding ocean roiling with choppy synths, opulent beats, and ravishing vocals. In The Water is available from iTunes, here.

Nakita arises out of New Zealand, captivating me with a smoky brittle voice, on new single Lost. This pop aria seems the perfect autumn and winter accompaniment. The glass jar Nakita achingly sings about seems to capture and hold our own hearts within its sheer confines. It’s said this singer songwriter is already a rising star back home in Christchurch, and it’s easy to see why after we’re brought to our knees by this powerfully blooming, emotive broiling beauty. Nakita explains that she wrote Lost at a time in her life when hospitals were her home. Her little sister was tragically lost at only 7 weeks of age after being diagnosed with Spina Bifilda. Nakita captures the heart shattering sorrow of that experience on this staggering and oh so personal ode. Lost is out now on iTunes.

Where Are You? is easily one of the most enchanting pop debuts I’ve encountered recently. The mellifluous and polished serenade comes from a new artist out of New Zealand who goes by the name Nakita. Her gentle and effortless singing is crystalline and bright, an alluring fusion of Tove Lo and CAPPA. Where Are You? leaves me giddy with excitement about Nikita. Purchase the stunning debut from iTunes.
