We’ve been ravenous for new music from Los Angeles based Norwegian electronic whiz Bearson for nearly a year. He’s finally back with a new original named Cold War, and there’s nothing cold about this warm lifting, mellifluous sweeping piece. Bearson enlists London’s Mr Hudson for smooth stirring vocals. Sleek pulsing, luscious rolling Cold War is an emotional whirlwind and a heart melting mid-tempo ballad that showcases Bearson’s tender side. Bearson is about to embark on tour with Whethan. The thought brings back memories of when I caught them both at the Independent a good while back. It’s a combo you won’t want to miss. Cold War is available, here.

DJ Snake’s Here Comes The Night, featuring Mr. Hudson, is at the receiving end of some spectacular re-imaginings by major production heavy weights. The Grammy nominated producer has even enlisted ever incredible NGHTMRE for an edit, who gives us a surprisingly chill and melodic version of the song. We embark on a cosmic waltz underneath a twilight sky to NGHTMRE’s brassy prismatic future trap dalliance. The new remix pack for DJ Snake’s Here Comes The Night also features an acoustic version and edits by Crankdat, Junkie Kid, and Shockone. You can stream them all on DJ Snake’s Soundcloud, here.

What happens when bits and pieces of HONNE, Grades, and deep house combine, with a pinch of Capital Cities? Listen to Hey You and you might get a taste of that fanciful potpourri. Hey You comes from London’s Mr Hudson, whom some might recognize from Jay Z’s Forever Young. Soulful pop and electro R&B intertwine on the minimalist indie electronic song, whose uptempo beats captures an optimistic mood Mr Hudson found himself in during his current California residency. He describes Hey You as a “wistful three minute snap shot of a first romantic encounter”. I guess in some ways, it’s Mr Hudson’s “Hello”. Hey You will be out December 18th.
